A Southwest Airlines pilot is suing the company, her union and a former colleague who pleaded guilty last year to dead-bolting the cockpit door during a flight and stripping naked in front of her.
Christine Janning alleges that Southwest retaliated by grounding her after she reported co-pilot Michael Haak to the company and the FBI. Janning's suit also notes that Haak remained employed despite an alleged history of sexual misconduct and that managers disparaged her in memos.
Janning also alleges that the Southwest Airlines Pilots Association conspired with the airline and refused to support her after the August 10, 2020 incident. She is suing Haak for sexual assault.
'On the Flight, Cpt. Haak announced to Ms. Janning that this was to be his final flight, and that there was "something [he] wanted to do before retiring,' the lawsuit reads. 'Cpt. Haak then bolt-locked the cockpit door, in violation of Federal Law, such that only he and Ms. Janning were inside and such that no one else could enter.

I served on two courts martial panels for that. Both found guilty both Dishonorable Discharges with forfeiture of all pay and allowances . One sentenced to hard time by president of the court. One not jailed because the president of the court determined that there was a "mutual attraction" between the parties.
If I learned anything, it is that the charge of rape is very subjective.
Saw that pic and knew it was you that posted it! Well done
Tease!!
Just kidding. My wife always gets a nickname where she works like Ice Queen or similar because she doesn’t play the flirting game. We actually met at work and she basically didn’t talk to me for 3 years because she knew I had a girlfriend. Best move I ever made ditching that girl.
Huh? I thought federal law REQUIRED the cockpit door to be dead bolted to prevent another 9/11 style attack.
Nope. In cruise, weâÂÂre only needed if something changes, or goes wrong. Luckily, IâÂÂm old, and wonâÂÂt see the time where airliners are being remotely flown from the ground, but IâÂÂd bet young people will.
The results will be.... enlightening.
Sounds like you were able to listen and evaluate evidence without prejudice. Well done.
Most unsanitary.
He stripped naked?
Did he think she was TSA?
Not only that, if she was alarmed about the captain’s behavior, why didn’t she open the door, get the flight attendants to remove the captain from the cockpit, declare an emergency due to the captain having some kind of mental breakdown, and land at the nearest airport?
She ended up looking down and southwest at him...
she’ll end up a millionaire many times over....hope she does.
