Is WWIII this year's October Surprise?

Preface: I've been monitoring the Russia/Ukraine war very closely since the beginning and comparing the non-stop shamefully dishonest propaganda of the OBiden-controlled media with news from independent, mostly pro-Russian sources. What matters to me is truth, and that is coming almost exclusively from the pro-Russian side: It's almost exactly the reverse of the U.S./USSR contest of the Cold War, with America now taking the old Soviet role and the Russian Federation taking the ethical higher ground formerly held by the U.S.

Everything done by Putin in this conflict is reasoned, rational and either clearly legal under international law or clearly defensible by comparison to U.S. interventions in foreign nations, which our government insist are legal.

If you don't share that view, it's likely the fault of your "news" sources. Tag-teaming propaganda by the leftist and neocon (RINO) media (which includes huge swaths of Christian media controlled by neocons like Pence, Romney and Ryan) is the only reason so many Americans are backing OBiden on this war. If the average American knew what I know from my independent research, there would never even have been a Russian incursion into Ukraine because we would all recognize that our government has nefariously orchestrated every single step of this conflict since at least 2014…

our foreign policy has been far from perfect. Still what Putin did was an act of war. He has no legitimate claim of self-defense

I agree. We are not perfect, but we love peace, and freedom and democracy and so that covers a lot of sins. Putin is a thug. There is no justification for what he does. If Zelinsky makes common cause with our deepstate to sell out his country and become a proxy to push globalism in Europe, that is his freedom to do so. If he chooses to launder our aid back to our politicians, that is his affair. That is absolutely none of Putin's business and he needs to stay out of it.

Ownership is often disputed.

Pat Buchanan pointed out that France's treay with Spain did not allow Napoleon to sell the Louisiana Territory, and the U.S. Constitution did not allow Jefferson to buy it (ESPECIALLY under a Jeffersonian understanding of the Constitution). But it happened.

We don’t love any of those things. In the last 73 years the CIA has overthrown over 70 Governments, you think that should have been done? Now the U.S. and probably the UK were involved in blowing up the Nord Stream Pipelines and that is going to cause all kind of pain and suffering in Europe this winter. Remember this when the first nuclear weapon is used. It could have all been avoided.

We do not know that for certain, either.

At least one person suggests it may be bad maintenance, and gives a reasoned explanation of how it could happen.

I think there is somebody (or somebodies) there they want. I read about the March attack (supposedly grads, but they were in the vicinity back then...:-) The article suggested that Zelensky insiders lived in this residential suburb, but nothing more was ever said.

Tonight they brought out multiple bombers. One article mentions drones, perhaps both were used. They said there were “lots of hits.”

I agree. They are not about to allow their power and control to be taken away. No way.

I am sorry, but I am tired of being called Putin puffer and such stuff. I am a freedom loving American, and if that means I have to put up with our government engaging in wars all over the world, well, they are really bad people and had it coming, and had it coming from us. We are spreading democracy. And if we rig elections and put in puppets we have to do so .. to make sure that we establish true democracies around the world. Being who we are we are loved by other democracies. If you don't love us, you are not a true democrat, and therefore we need to remove you in the name of democracy.

I mean it. If Putin can't tolerate some perversion and corruption in the name of our democratic principles, well, he is a thug and needs to be replaced by a true democrat, you know like Zelensky, who every day sacrifices oodles of American payoff to him to show the folks in Washington DC how much he loves democracy.

For one thing, they weren’t “separatists” since the people are Russian ethnics and Russian speakers and the area had been considered part of Russia until new borders were carelessly drawn (at which time provisions were made for referenda in the future). “Ukraine” is a sort of badly assembled, made-up country.

Also, Kyiv and Moscow have historically been at odds. Kyievan Rus was the center of Russian language and culture from about the 9th century to the 13th century, when the Mongol invasions destroyed it and the power center of the Rus moved to Moscow, which had been a secondary and not very important settlement during the earlier years. And since then, Moscow has dominated in terms of culture and power, partially because Ukraine is essentially a border region itself - in fact, the name “Ukraine” means “borderland” - that is, the border between Western Europe and the Slavic lands. It includes several states and regions (Belorus, etc.).

The reason it used to be called “the” Ukraine was because it meant “the borderland.” It declared its independence in 1991 and since then has wanted to be known simply as “Ukraine.” Like most new states that emerged in the 20th century, it had rather haphazardly drawn borders, and this is the source of today’s problem.

So we’ve gotten ourselves sunk into a border war that does not affect us in the least (well, the natural gas and other things affect the Biden family bottom line) and that has just spiraled ut of control mostly because of US rhetoric and inflammatory bumbling. I’m not even sure Biden is aware of what he’s doing with this situation, and he sure doesn’t understand any of the history of it.

Elon Musk just suggested a UN supervised referendum for those areas, and actually even Putin wanted to negotiate - but the Ukrainians refuse to do so. Why should they. If the war stops, so does the Uncle Sam gravy train.

The only thing I don’t understand is why Biden thinks this benefits him in any way. I’m sure he’s probably making money off it, but I don’t understand how he thinks it benefits him politically - except of course that the entire left (and the neocons) have for some reason glommed on to Ukraine as their big cause, almost on the level with transgenders…

All of your points could be applied to every single civil in recorded history.

I would agree that generally speaking, it best of us to stay out of the way. At the same time, I see no reason why we cannot supply people with the means to protect themselves from aggressive people like Putin.

This is hurting my head!

We—no human—can go back in time and change things.

Every group of people have committed some outrage on another group at one time or another. The Native Americans tribes in place in 1607 changed over the next two centuries often due to conquests and defeats over each other. I’m sure that went back for millennia. Same in Europe, Asia, Africa, etc.

All humanity can do is stop doing it now. But humanity don’t.

Russia could leave Ukraine now. But they won’t.

We’ll could stop sending the Ukrainians arms. But we won’t.

The Chinese won’t stop keeping Uigurs in camps, Iran won’t stop beating women for not wearing head scarves, Germans won’t give up on green energy, Greta won’t stop saying how dare you, and Kamala won’t stop sounding stupid.

There is absolutely no good argument from the past to justify doing bad things in the present.

The problem is people who might speak Russian, but still consider themselves Ukrainian.

This from the article is absolutely true:

Frankly, every death in Ukraine since as least April (when OBiden sent Boris Johnson to kill the peace deal that Russia, Ukraine, Germany and France had brought within inches of adoption) has been the fault of our government. And realistically, the death toll going back all the way to the 2014 Obama/Soros Maidan coup, including the 14,000 people killed in the Donbass by Ukrainian shelling through February 2022, is "our" fault, too.

I went to Ireland back in 2009. Everyone I spoke to spoke English. I asked them why they didn’t speak Irish. They said they didn’t know how, or very well, learned it in school but no one in adult life talks to them in it, or they don’t want to.

They were actually, biologically Irish Celts, but chose to speak English.

We would not have received the Mexican Session if Mexico had not invaded Texas after Texas joined the Union. Yes, yes, bother me with trifles about the “Nueces Strip” if you wish, but Santa Anna agreed to withdraw the Mexican forces south of the Rio Grande … that meant that the Rio Grande became the new border of Texas.

The Mexican-American war would not have been fought if the Mexicans had not challenged the US Army.

Did you not learn history?

Why should the Ukraine separatists receive any treatment that is better than the Confederates received?

Confederates didn’t like the votes. Ukrainian Separatists responded to an unconstitutional overthrow of their government by Revolution. For your freshman level question: Why do Republics/democracies not have Revolutions?
