Incredible study images babies responding to taste of kale in the womb

An extraordinary new study has recorded the first evidence of babies in the womb reacting to flavors of foods eaten by their mothers. The stunning images show fetuses crumpling up their faces in disgust minutes after a mother consumes bitter kale or smiling with glee in the presence of sweet carrot flavors.

Anecdotally, most mothers will tell you their babies were incredibly responsive to certain foods or drinks. Feeling the little one aggressively kick or twirl within minutes of particular foods being consumed certainly suggests fetuses can respond to specific flavors, but research has still been a little unclear on how this is happening.

We know taste buds have developed in a fetus by around 14 weeks of gestation. There is also evidence showing certain flavor molecules from food can cross over into amniotic fluid. So some researchers have hypothesized taste preferences in young children could be influenced by exposure to certain foods during pregnancy.

“A number of studies have suggested that babies can taste and smell in the womb, but they are based on post-birth outcomes while our study is the first to see these reactions prior to birth,” explained lead researcher on the new study, Beyza Ustun.

Pretty sure abrams will claim it’s all faked. After all, no real heartbeat,no real tastebuds. Right stacy?

I kinda doubt the chemicals that evoke a “taste” response pass through the placenta to the baby as-ingested, let alone make it intact to the bloodstream of the mom.

Probably more of a ‘synch’ with the mood of the mom somehow.

I buy kale all the time. You’d have to pay me to eat it.

But my rabbits love the stuff, it’s their favorite thing.

Humans are not rabbits, baby humans or grown ones.

Kale Porn! What they tell you!

The reality!

(Yes Selena Gomez drinking kale juice and NOT acting!)

The correct way to eat Kale! Cook it with bacon, toss it with some croutons, pepper salt, and soft boiled egg on top!

Kale aux lardons. Enjoy outside on a sunny day accompanied by the either of the ladies in the pictures above!

Mother and baby are linked physically. The baby is actually alive and linked with its mother inside her body. It feels pain when the mother experiences it and it gags when she tastes something nasty.

Why would this be hard to believe? I totally expected this. But Im not a narcissistic murderer looking after my own bets interests.

If you mix kale into mustard greens, collard greens or turnip greens kale takes on the flavor of the other greens! So it’s like a Greens Multiplier!....................

A co-worker who was a Kale enthusiast bought me a Kale smoothie one time over breakfast. Out of politeness, I managed to gag about half of it down during the meal, but it was gross.

"Even before birth no one likes that crap."

And after death, maybe everyone eventually loves it.

I love this. My mother would get sick when she boiled potatoes when pregnant with me, but not with my siblings. To this day, I cannot stand mashed potatoes, but baked is great. I tell people I’ve hated mashed potatoes since before I was born. I now have some evidence.

RB Well, they are all from the same vegetable family. (Interesting to see how the unborn respond!)

Still, good for you cooked up a bit with bacon and croutons and an egg!
