WASHINGTON, Tuesday, Sept. 30.
The following dispatch is from a special correspondent of the TIMES:
SHARPSBURGH, Tuesday, Sept. 30.
Yesterday, Col. FARNSWORTH's Brigade of cavalry accompanied by GIBSON's and TIDBALL's United States batteries, crossed the Potomac into Virginia, below Shepherdstown. The force reconnoitered the country for a distance of five or six miles from the river, and discovered that the enemy still holds his position in the vicinity of Winchester.
Maj. MADILL, of the Eighth Illinois Cavalry, with three squadrons, took the road leading from Shepherdstown to Martinsburgh, and met one regiment of the enemy's cavalry four miles from the former place. The enemy also had two pieces of artillery, and fired a few shell, but without effect.
The rebel vedettes which were in Shepherdstown and along the roads in the morning, retired as our cavalry advanced.
Capt. FARNSWORTH, of the Eighth Illinois, took the road to Winchester. In the houses along the way he took prisoners over twenty of the enemy's wounded, including Col. MEGILL, of Georgia, all of whom were paroled.
At Shepherdstown Gen. PLEASANTON's Provost-Marshal paroled nearly 400 rebel wounded.
Our artillery was not brought into practice.
Gen. GRIFFIN, with the Fourteenth New-York, Sixty-second Pennsylvania, Thirty-second Massachusetts and Second District of Columbia Regiments, also crossed the river, and proceeded a mile and a half beyond. They took over four wagons, which they brought in at night loaded with forage. They also picked up twenty-five muskets.
It is believed that the enemy will not reappear in Shepherdstown while our forces occupy their present position opposite.

If I could go back in time to 1862 and told people in the union “Hi I’m from the year 2022. Right now in 2022 we are dealing with the Democratic party trying to destroy the USA”
These people in 1862 would not be surprised in the least hearing that would they. My point being is we’ve been dealing with these a-holes in the Democrap party for 161 years, absolutely nothing has changed. The only difference is now they are importing their slaves from south of the border by walking........

Hot in the classified ads, railroad bonds and STD cures.
The Democrat party began under Thomas Jefferson as the 1787 anti-Federalist then 1789 anti-Administration party, opposed to George Washington's new Constitution and Federal administration.
They have been opposed ever since.
As a minority party from 1788 through 1801 "Democratics" decried Federalists "monarchism" and any power-grab not authorized in the new Constitution.
Those included the original national bank (today's Federal Reserve system), what we call "infrastructure" spending, the Alien and Sedition Acts, and protective tariffs.
Once in complete political power -- after 1801 -- Democrats supported everything they had condemned in Federalists, and added some new unconstitutional powers of their own, notably the Louisiana Purchase.
So Democrats ruled over Washington, DC from 1801 until 1861 and when finally dislodged from power they declared secession, Confederacy and war against the United States.
Expect something similar whenever Democrats are removed from political powers they feel divinely entitled to.
