Electric Vehicles Are the Veggie Burger of Cars
Heartland Daily News ^ | 9/29/22 | David Debertin

Overcoming the impracticality of electric vehicles (EVs) appears to be as big a marketing challenge as convincing diners that plant-based burgers are tasty. Yet, those inspired by the “green” demonization of fossil fuels continue to try. (Snip) EV adoption might follow a pattern similar to what happened with plant-based patties at Burger King. Initially, a group of enthusiastic customers chose the plant-based Whoppers over a meat version because cattle are a purported cause of climate change and eating meat is said to be “unhealthy.” Another group of customers thought it was interesting to see if a veggie burger tasted like real beef. Soon, however, demand for the plant-based version fell off drastically. McDonald’s has also experimented with a plant-based burger at some locations but recently abandoned that effort for lack of customer interest.

"Hon...I think there's an EV charger down there at the end of the block. Would you mind running out and charging up the car so we can evacuate?"

you got it

personal transportation for the rich and powerful

the masses will have to catch the bus

they have no intention of upgrading the grid to accommodate the number of EVs needed to replace the number of gas cars

Most will not be able to afford the electricity for their EVs especially when they go all in on “green energy”

the elite will be tooling around in their EVs and gas cars(yes there will be exemptions, there always are)

and no parking problems

I have to admit...I do like black bean burgers. But, that doesn’t mean I’m running out to buy an EV.

Ditto for wind energy as the gigantic blades begin to deteriorate.. No way to recycle those either. Imagine a boneyard of monstrous dead windmills.

And, iirc, each windmill requires 50,000 gallons of oil while killing a slew of airborne fowl.

A small price to pay for .01° of cooling according to models. Projections, guesses, estimates.

I’m seeing lots of Teslas in Phoenix so the dangers of EVs hasn’t fully been realized yet. That realization should hit with the first battery replacement.

“It may seem obvious to us, but, electricity doesn’t come from an electric outlet in the wall. Electricity has to be generated somewhere. And in many places, fossil fuel power plants generate the electricity to power the electric car.”

I love my electric car (Hyundai Ioniq5) but I worry where the electricity is going to come from in the future.

Actually the meat substitute ones are more expensive (Beyond Meat, Impossible Beef, etc.) That is part of the reason they are failing so dramatically.

The hatred of all things EV on FR is so annoying to me. I have one for the most important reason of all - they are fun and interesting. What is the point of life, if we can’t find things we enjoy? I also have ICE cars, and those are important and sometimes fun for me as well.

I also enjoy not having to worry about oil changes on my EV, or much of the routine maintenance you have to do with an ICE vehicle. Would I rely entirely on EV? Not a chance. However, they definitely have a great role to play as your daily commuter vehicle.

I can see why people dislike them if it is forced upon them though, but people on FR can ‘t even admit that they might be fun or have any useful purpose.

If an EV gets flooded, Wonder what happens to battery, which is in the bottom of the car?

The EV’s big challenge it to increase the range.

That require batteries with higher energy density, which means they’re more like bombs, take longer to recharge, and are heavier and more expensive.

I like mine on a burger bun with mustard and cheese.

May have to add bacon.

I’m sure the Early Adopters enjoy EVs as nice toys. Knock yourself out. But don’t believe for one second they are a viable replacement for ICE vehicles.

NO!!!!! There is a big difference. Veggie burgers are cheaper than real burgers. EV’s cost double of gasoline cars.

Usually. Not always. There is a new kid on the block. Affordable, efficient, AND it augments with usable solar. EV's should never be mandated. But we should have a choice. Here is what we are getting as a second car. It fills a want, not a need. Aptera

Major grey’s mango chutney goes good with any veggie burger, with a dash of Sriracha sauce.

you were speaking to true believers ie useful idiots

the globull warmists pushing EVs know the grid will never be able to accommodate the number of EVs necessary to replace gas cars

its not a problem

it is the plan

limit personal transportation

the rich and powerful will be fine

the masses will have to catch the bus

bonus: the elite will not have parking problems

Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ..... that’s it, right there.

For some reason, I’ve not mastered the ability to post pics, even though someone on FR was nice enough to send me the link to use.

But, I would have like to post all the Tesla chargers that are in a pool of storm water. Maybe then, TexasGator can talk about how 95% of them work like a charm. So, I’ll assume that the ones in the pool of water are the 5%.

Oh now, you’re just being ridiculous.

You can also use a bicycle, or maybe a moped, or hire a rickshaw...
