Tucker Carlson conjectures that US behind alleged Nord Stream sabotage
Stars and Stripes ^

Posted on 09/28/2022 1:01:23 PM PDT by MNDude

Fox News host Tucker Carlson's long-running quest to blame the Biden administration for the war in Ukraine hasn't borne much fruit, despite his prominent perch on the most-watched cable news channel.

We know very little about what happened to the pipelines, which carry natural gas from Russia to Europe, or who was responsible if the explosions were due to sabotage, which authorities say is likely. Anything seems possible at this point.

But Carlson's supposed evidence for this being a U.S. operation is decidedly weak.

Nonetheless, Carlson continued, that's where some people are pointing. "The Washington Post got right to it," Carlson said. "Putin, they declared, is now weaponizing the Nord Stream pipelines."

Perhaps the most prominent quote Carlson used was from President Biden in February: Biden had said that, if Russia invades Ukraine, "there will be no longer a Nord Stream 2. We will bring an end to it."

Carlson treated this as no less than a smoking gun. He cast Biden's comments as him saying "that he might take out these pipelines." Despite often casting Biden as a doddering old fool, Carlson assured that, in this instance, the president must have chosen his words carefully: "He said there won't be a Nord Stream 2. We'll put an end to it. We will take it out. We will blow it up."

You begin to see the rhetorical trick here. Biden did not say we would "blow it up," unless you're using that phrase metaphorically. (At the time, the pipeline's construction was complete but it was not operational, awaiting approval from Germany and the European Union; a few weeks later, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said Berlin would stop the pipeline's certification.) But Carlson's aim is clearly to make people think about it literally.

I agree, but on Russia’s time table.

They have bigger, better fish they are preparing to fry in Ukraine, when the 300k mobilization and retraining is done, and the ground is hard after the autumn mud season.

Going tit-for-tat with ships/pipelines/LNG terminals is what the globalists WANT Russia to do.

If this happens, tit for tat, in a month nobody will remember [or care] who fired the first infrastructure war shot.

Letting the NS1 NS2 sabotages stand on their own gives a bigger black eye to Biden/America, day by day.

Any day they wish, on their own schedule, Russia can terminate LNG tanker deliveries to Europe.

For now, this would harm them far more than benefit them.

Europe is already to freeze, and go into a depression.

Adding Russian anti-infrastructure attacks won’t change that.

It will just allow the globalists to divert attention to Russia as the bad actor.

The experts will get right on it, as soon as they finish the final, ultimate, believed-by-everybody Covid-19 “lab or nature” study.

IOW, NEVER.

Is this Government Propaganda? Isn't "Stars and Stripes" published by the Department of Defense?

Meaning it's BIDEN supporting PROPAGANDA, brought to you by Lloyd Austin, publisher and proprietor.

Absolutely. The evidence points to Biden. Plain and simple.

Unlikely, but not impossible, that a few of the close cronies of Putin himself got together, and deliberately sabotaged the pipeline themselves. Then, as not being the first to be suspected, it would be easy to shift the blame off on those considered to be “enemies”, i.e., the US or some NATO faction.

Splendid example of how to stir up things by inserting a “casus belli” into the dialogue, by a “false flag” operation.

The tinderbox is open and subject to a shower of some very hot sparks.

Excellent comments.

Given the success of the Covid psyops, our “information warriors” undoubtedly believe that there is no proposition, no matter how ridiculous, that they can sell to the Western public.

Absolutely, the Dempanic was just another campaign, all produced and directed by the same individuals/globalist.

There were rumors Germany was considering breaking-ranks with US/NATO and drop its sanctions on Russian gas.<

What rumors? Started by who? Germany literally just signed on Monday a deal with the UAE - to provide it with LNG for the winter.

In that case, both Poland and the US would be prime suspects in the sabotage of nordstream.

Poland just opened up a pipeline with Norway. Can't see why they'd care either.

The evidence all points in the opposite direction - that Europe wasn't going to crumble and give up on sanctions just to get Russian gas.

Who do you think might have gotten P.O.'d by that?

I heard Carlson last night and he appeared to be scorching Biden for being stupid for saying what he said, not necessarily pinning the blame on him, as he said he did not know who was behind it.

As the cliche has it, could the consternation and stroking out amongst the democrats and MSM be imagined if Trump had said it.

From what I’ve read, which is admitted pretty cursory, the long-term issue could be salt water getting on the inside of the pipes. Unless it is fixed and cleansed pretty quickly, the damage might become too severe too repair.

There must be a procedure for flushing the water out once it’s ready for use.

Right, but they’d have to get to it pretty quickly because the salt water will lead to corrosion. Pretty sure the pipes are protected from that on the outside, but unlikely they have the same protection on the inside.

1- I agree: all about the ratings.
Tucker is kind of jealous that Greg Gutfeld is the NEW new king at FOX.

If biden was actually responsible, then it is an act of war (that is exactly how Russia would interpret it), so deal accordingly.
