I've seen multiple posters bragging about how they lie to pollsters...how does this benefit our candidates in any way? This results in lopsided results skewed towards the Dems that:
1. Decreases the amount of $$$ our candidates get 2. Allow cover for the Dems cheating 3. Potentially decreases voter turnout
If contacted, tell the pollsters who you like and let's get accurate numbers out there.
That’s my point. People believed it and use the polls as evidence.
what makes you think this midterm will be close? the only thing dems have to run on is abortion and that’s not even in the top 5 of issues. the economy is going to dominate everything
Yes it does...and Oz should play well in the Philly suburbs, but I’ve encountered at least half a dozen so called conservatives on this site who will not vote for Oz under any circumstances. It’s a bigger problem up there than you think.
Gas prices have fallen in a big way and the average person believes that inflation will soon follow. People also believe the Inflation Reduction Act will help as well. I do not believe those things...the average voter does. Abortion is a WAY bigger issue than you think. Lastly, our candidates flat out suck this election cycle.
Gas prices are going up again. And Diesel has really never gone down.
I do see that. Not in all states but some. Isn’t that normal for this time of year before they fall again?
The situation so dire in this country you should vote for a dead dog if it has a R in front of it!
Polls are designed to do nothing more than shape public opinion.
Rarely are Republicans/conservatives contacted to participate in polls, so no need to lie.
I will! I chime in when I feel our side is doing something politically harmful to itself. The dialogue is helpful!
I agree. Republicans use polls all the time. Trump uses them as well. If people are lying then it makes it hard to create strategy and adjustments.
Even so, however, it looks like the polls are pretty accurate in elections where Trump is not a candidate.
It seems to me that Trump himself is able to get some votes from Hispanic or black people who might not participate in polls. And who knows, maybe some of them are lying. So while I wish people would not lie to pollsters, I doubt that many people actually are.
They did very well in 2018.

“It was a good year for polls. This time, they got the basic story of the election right: a Democratic House and a Republican Senate. And on average, the final polls were closer to the results than any election in a decade. Best of all, the polls were relatively unbiased, meaning that one party didn’t systematically overperform or underperform its final poll results.”
And Trump’s preferred pollster did poorly that year:

You may have a point with that. If contacted by Trafalgar though...be truthful. There are pollsters that do the right thing.
There is not one instance where anyone has alleged this happened. If it had, everyone would know about it.
Remember all the crybullies who said John Kerry should have won because the polls show he was more popular around the world?
Polls ae stupid anyway.....
They’re not though. They are a very powerful tool!
I can care less what a poll in France says. I DO care when a poll shows my candidate down 12 in my state and big donors write the race off as unwinnable. Self fulfilling prophecy!
Ponder that.
Polls aren’t designed to reflect what the public is interested in. Now they are all designed to influence the outcomes. The media are slime.
Why? Why should the establishment Republicans think I go along with them? I tell callers from the National Republican Whatevers the same thing: You have sold us out so many times, you will never get another nickel of my money. You want my money, go talk to the NRA, because that’s where it’s going.
My Congressman is Dr. Michael Burgess. I don’t think he is a heavyweight conservative, but he is an honest, caring individual, and he won’t kill babies, so I do support him. But I doubt a pollster has ever been that specific.
People believe the polls were correct and that the election was legit because of those very polls. Ponder...whatever.
