Here’s my prediction that I hope does not come true:

Even if they are great at disaster relief, the Biden crowd will gin up (pay for) disaster crowds of people screaming for help, ala Katrina at the Superdome. They will have ABCNNBCBS drones flying over looking for people on rooftops and whatever dead bodies they can find floating in the water. They will vilify DeSantis as an incompetent idiot that should be hounded out of office for his ‘self-made’ disaster. Geraldo, Mascara Boy and all the others will be down there wading in hip deep water crying their eyes out before the cameras pleading for Biden to come and fix this mess!.................I hope I’m wrong...................

Not to mention ordinary folks pitch in.
My experience was Katrina but the south and actually most rural areas don’t wait around for the officials to get things done. Not a slight to the first responders..who do an otherwise great job.
But they can’t do everything and be everywhere.
So, folks are out there with chainsaws...and so on..doing what they can.

If people die because emegency info wasn’t properly disseminated, or worse, intentionally throttled, the media companies should be sued and/or prosecuted.

As I recall, the Mayor of Miami is a pro-business Republican.

Quite unexpected, since the 1960 vintage Cubans are now outnumbered by Latin Americans and 1980 Cubans, who usually vote Democrat.

“Hurricane Katrina was George W. Bush’s fault.”

And, as I recall, the Democrat GOVERNOR of Louisiana was exempt from any Katrina criticism.

I have no doubt the “DeSantis Asleep At The Wheel” Ian stories have already been written.

Democrat as president = hurricanes are governor’s fault.
Republican as president = hurricanes are president’s fault.

The Democrats have been politicizing weather as long as I can remember.

I was living in the Boston area during the Blizzard of 1978. That was basically a Cat 1 hurricane with snow - that stalled for two days. Parts of southern New England got as much as four feet of snow. Coastal damage was very extensive.

Anyway, there was Governor Mike Dukakis in his sweaters all over TV. He was on every channel practically 24/7 telling viewers that he was "rolling up his sleeves" and getting us dug out. After the storm, they even had him up in a helicopter "surveying the damage."

Mike to the rescue!

In actuality, the situation was disastrously handled. Dukakis claimed credit for closing down the roads but that happened AFTER the storm. Thousands of motorists were stranded on the highways trying to get home from work and it took the National Guard to rescue them. Many side streets in the Boston area did not get plowed out for weeks.

The Dukakis Administration was caught flat-footed by the storm but due to all the fawning press coverage of "Tax Hike Mike" and his sweaters, he came out smelling like a rose and this was the catalyst to his presidential run ten years later, running on a platform of "competence."

The Media has to downplay the articulate DeSantis because basement Biden will be hiding and later do a flyover.

You think Bush got crucified for doing a reasonable job with Katrina, you ain’t seen nothin’ yet. According to the entire lying media/government alliance (next week), DiSantis is about to commit a criminal act of negligence as he completely screws up the hurricane relief efforts of hero Biden and FEMA. Unlike Bush, DiSantis will not go fetal position for the beating. DiSantis fights back.
