California will BAN all new gas-fueled furnaces and heaters by 2030 to cut ozone levels

California is phasing out new natural gas furnaces and heaters by 2030 This means all new homes and buildings will be constructed with electrical services The ban aims to cut ozone released from the state, which has the highest levels in the US

California is set to phase out new natural gas furnaces and heaters by 2030 after a proposal from the California Air Resources Board (CARB) was passed, making it the first US state to take such action.

The proposal, included in the 2022 State Implementation Plan (SIP) Strategy, is to combat nitrogen oxide pollution in the state - homes and buildings generate four times more ozone than all of California's gas power plants combined.

The plan, however, will cost about $96.2 billion to enforce and new homeowners will have to pay for expensive electrical options moving forward.

The report comes just a month after California announced a ban on the sale of new gas-powered cars.

CARB Chair Liane Randolph said in a statement: 'While this strategy will clean the air for all Californians, it will also lead to reduced emissions in the many low-income and disadvantaged communities that experience greater levels of persistent air pollution.

'But to truly meet the ozone standard, California needs more federal action to clean up harmful diesel pollution from primarily federally controlled sources, from locomotives and ocean-going vessels to aircraft, which are all concentrated in communities that continue to bear the brunt of poor air quality.

'We simply cannot provide clean air to Californians without the federal government doing its part.'

The new ban is part of California Govern Gavin Newson's climate push and aims to abide by the Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) regulations to limit ozone in the atmosphere to 70 parts per billion

Is California aware that human beings exhale dangerous, climate-destroying carbon dioxide?

If California was really serious about saving Mother Earth, they would ban all exhaling. Inhaling, okay. Exhaling, a felony.

“I love my gas furnace and dryer and hot water heater”

Cooking stoves too! Electric stoves are a pain to use. Gas stove is instant on-instant off.

Gas is the ultimate and we have spent trillions putting in the infrastructure to deliver it to homes and businesses and factories. So California wants to turn around and not use this delivery system. Meanwhile mandating electric for these uses and for EV automobiles. So trillions must be spent on that new beefed up electrical infrastructure

Lost in the Ozone

Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen

told ya a million times how I Love you.
But honey your old shriveled heart won’t let me in.
So I’ll just relax here, with this glass of gin,
Headed for the ozone again.

Here we go now...
I’m lost in the ozone again.
I’m lost in the ozone again.
One drink of wine, two drinks of gin...
And I’m lost in the ozone again.

Now the neon lights are shining bright downtown.
There’s a thousand swinging doors gonna let me in.
I tucked the kids in bed, he! Eight o’clock and then...
I’m gonna head for the ozone again.

Just watch me...
I’m lost in the ozone again.
I’m lost in the ozone again.
One drink of wine, two drinks of gin...
And I’m lost in the ozone again.

Wanna confuse libs?

Most of California’s pollution comes from China and India.

China is building more than half of the world's new coal power plants.

CO2 is plant food. Ever heard of photosynthesis?

CO2 makes up 0.04% of the air.

I have not heard about ground level ozone for years. With today’s fuel injected, fuel efficient automobiles and with all the factories sent to China/Asia... I am sure California’s air is very clean. This is concocted, a made up issue by the bureaucrats on the California Air Resources Board.

Anyone in California here -— Is air pollution still a problem? I hear Los Angeles rarely has smog these days.

I wish the federal gov't would help us poor Californian's to relocate since they have enough money helping Afghanis, Somali's and all illegals moving in from the southern border. Please Joe Biden help us please.

We're gonna die here in California East Germany.

The California Air Resources Board (CARB) rules California like the Stasi ruled East Germany, and exists due to a ‘waiver’ granted by the federal government. This waiver or exemption can be revoked at any time by a sane federal administration, making fuel standards/emissions/gasoline blends etc a federal and not a state concern.

If your home has a gas-fired water heater and it wears out, can you purchase a replacement gas-fired water heater? Or will they require you to put in electric, a new electrical drop, a new panel, and new 220 V wiring to your water heater location? I could see an electric retrofit costing $5,000 to $10,000. The poor people they care so much about will really love that.

“I didn’t know ozone was still a thing.”

I haven’t heard a peep about ground-level ozone emissions in 20, maybe 30 years. All of the sudden it pops in 2022 up as the raison d’être to BAN natural gas water heaters? What the hell?

Are they also going to put up a glass bubble to keep ozone from floating above them from other areas?

With all that extra ozone they should plug the hole.

Interesting analysis of California’s legislature’s demographic asymmetry with the general population:

https://calmatters.org/politics/california-legislature/2021/01/how-diverse-california-legislature/

I have no idea the purpose of this site, but the statistics are interesting. In so many ways, D’s takeover of Cali is a warning to the rest of the states and to the nation as a whole.

One does have to admire California’s honesty in its self-destruction, as it tries to wipe out all white privilege — no matter how much that privilege is to the benefit of all races.

It is ground level ozone (O3)...has been a problem for 40-50 years on hot days. Today’s forecast for the area of FR HQ (Fresno) was 78 ppb (Stage 3 of 6) actually topped out at 86 ppb today.

(A good reason to not purchase an “Eden Pure” air “purifier”/ozone generator that is advertised heavily on radio lately).

“Nox” (nitrogen oxides) are an ozone precursor:

https://www.nj.gov/dep/dsr/trends/nox-voc.pdf

Los Angeles has made good progress...the ozone levels in Los Angeles are 40 percent lower than they were in 1970 – and that’s with twice as many cars...see:
