If your home has a gas-fired water heater and it wears out, can you purchase a replacement gas-fired water heater? Or will they require you to put in electric, a new electrical drop, a new panel, and new 220 V wiring to your water heater location? I could see an electric retrofit costing $5,000 to $10,000. The poor people they care so much about will really love that.

If there’s no sales of new gas furnaces, it looks like the homeowner will have to do the expensive electric retrofit and upgrade.
