CIA doctor hit by Havana syndrome says he was in 'disbelief' as he suffered what he was investigating

(CNN)CIA physician Dr. Paul Andrews was one of the first people sent to Havana, Cuba, to investigate a spate of mysterious health incidents that were impacting embassy and agency personnel in 2017 when he was struck by the same set of debilitating symptoms, he told CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta in his first public interview for a CNN Special Report: "Immaculate Concussion: The Truth About Havana Syndrome."

Andrews, who is using a pseudonym in order to speak publicly, had already been studying the first victims of what has come to be known colloquially as "Havana syndrome," or officially as "anomalous health incidents." Physicians in Florida had recorded a series of symptoms that hinted that victims were suffering from a brain injury that was impacting their balance, among other things. Andrews traveled to Cuba to investigate about two months after he became aware of the first cases. He wasn't too worried for his own safety, at first. On his first night, he went to sleep around 11:30 p.m. in his hotel room. But shortly before 5 a.m., he was awakened by severe pain in his right ear, nausea and a terrible headache. Then he began to hear a clicking noise that past victims had reported hearing at the onset of their symptoms — a sound that Andrews had previously only heard on audio clips. His first thought was that he was dreaming.

Heck no. They could have been experimenting on their officers to develop a weapon.

Something clearly has gone on. Whoever developed whatever this is was successful.

There was a debunking show on the History Channel saying that it was all cricket noises that caused it.

I certainly trust the CIA when it is CNN that is reporting. LOL! Next we will get an MI-6 article published by the Guardian. Do these idiots realize that there credibility is shot. I just assume anything that I see is the opposite of the truth.

The only reason that this is being reported by CNN is that it makes good anti-Russia propaganda. That serves CNN’s leftist political agenda. There is some chance it is true, but since it comes from CNN, it cannot be trusted.

From October 1962 to September 1964, I was often in out of Gitmo aboard a USS Navy ship or ashore in Gitmo.

So when, I have typical old Male forgetfulness like, “What I should be doing now or, where did I put my car keys?”

I try to blame it on the Gitmo CIA syndrome.”

My wife an RN for 60+ years just ignores that grim possible reality and calls me an 83 year old forgetful male goat.

I get no respect for my recurring CIA/Gitmo syndrome!

Would you trust the CIA?

The skill (art?) of discernment is critical at present.

Mass hysteria. Only affected US diplomats. Heavily disproven. It was these idiot Fairfax County types that realized hearing crickets could get them a medical retirement.

Even the CIA says it was fake. But they want those medical retirements.

How soon they forget.
The Thing, also known as the Great Seal bug, was one of the first covert listening devices (or "bugs") to use passive techniques to transmit an audio signal. It was concealed inside a gift given by the Soviet Union to W. Averell Harriman, the United States Ambassador to the Soviet Union, on August 4, 1945. Because it was passive, needing electromagnetic energy from an outside source to become energized and active, it is considered a predecessor of radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology.[1][2][3]

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Thing_(listening_device)

Because of this previous discovery, the CIA knew exactly what this was and what the cause was.

I learned about it in the 1970's when it was still a national secret.   Over the years, there were magazine articles about diplomats and embassy workers being bombarded with microwaves.   Does any one believe that after the Russians were caught and exposed at the United Nations that Communists all over the world would stop surveilling us by any means possible?

You might also think now of the riot control stand off weapons we have perfected using electromagnetic energy cannons.

"Havana syndrome is a hoax?"   Or the high energy tools usage still needs to be kept on the down low?

It is kind of surprising to see so many here think this thing is a hoax.

Goodness gracious, CIA has done despicable things in search of ways to get an advantage. MK Ultra is not the only version.

It is not hard for me to believe something happened ...CIA may or may not know...may or may not be involved...and may or may not be pulling strings to get people here to believe it is nothing

The article does not discuss the cases that were happening outside of Cuba.

Other countries include China, India, Switzerland, France etc.

Here is an article about some Europe cases:

https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-59986297

I consider this matter unsolved but I would not rule out side effects from our own high tech listening devices inside our own embassies.

If the technologies are secret and compartmentalized it would be kinda difficult for .gov to fess up....

Mass hysteria. Monkey see, monkey do. State Dept embassy types hear about the Havana Syndrome and that people are getting disability retirement. Some imagine symptoms... some cynically know it’s like back pain in the workplace. Exceedingly difficult to disprove.
Claim headaches, confusion, dizziness, etc...
Havana hits everywhere.... It’s a scam.
