My latest FreeRepublic donation is listed by my credit card company as "FreeRepublicFirearms". Yes, payment to our dear FreeRepublic is flagged as a firearm purchase.
I just did a search on Free Republic Firearms and yep, there it is.

If you come here and engage in that seditious 1st Amendment stuff, you’ll find you’ve made a number of their lists.
If it were my domain I would be on the phone ASAP to make this right. And here is why... There is a chance accounts are goofed because of the similar names. Donations going through their services might end up going to the wrong receiving account because the names are so close and wrong reference. Or it could discourage from donating.
And this could spread to other banks and payment services, this need to be fixed immediately even if it is one bank. Soon it will be many banks and card services doing the exact same thing because of the mix up...
Kudos to you Reno! Excellent catch about a serious issue that is extremely dangerous for this domain now and in the future.

Dispute the charge. Tell’em you did not make a payment to Free Republic Firearms...you made a payment to Free Republic LLC. Tell’em you want to be sure the money is going to the correct entity.
See if that shakes up anything.
