Perfect. A one-two punch.
(See the post prior to yours.)
Aw geez, you will bring the EV fluffers out now.
Well, that’s what Paris gets for allowing smoking on their buses.
That is a lot of pollution and CO2.
Reuters with some more details
Curios as to what Battery chemistry this bus used. One of the problems with EV batteries is dendrites forming between the anode and cathode. These cause uncontrolled discharges, and heat leading to events as shown (also on Samsung Galaxy phones a few years ago, laptop batteries a decade ago, etc). This is partly why other chemistries are used, to remove flammable potential , retard dendritic growth while keeping or boosting energy density.
Toyota has a solid contender with their solid state battery tech; but scaling product is an issue. Other chemistries are still being worked out
Oh, My, God!!!
That thing exploded into flames. Which makes a lot of sense. How much potential energy is stored in those cells. Enough to drive a city bus all day long? This electric car initiative is just as dangerous as any of the crazy leftist emotion driven boondoggles. Nuclear energy was once a leftist emotion driven initiative. Same as the plastic grocery bags. Ethanol... Windmills... Solar Cells... All from the delusional leftist feverswamp that is our university educational systems. That’s where we need to start.
Since 2014, Big Blue Bus has led the way in the adoption of clean fuel, near-zero emissions buses, which has helped reduce our nitrogen oxide (NOx) emissions by more than 70% over the last 3 years -- but there's still more work to do!
D'ya think?
Just wait ‘til all the fire trucks are electric too!
That does it!
I’m never gonna buy an electric bus!

That’s just from medication.
Gotta wonder what kind of dose people breathing those vapors are getting and fish and wildlife downstream of the tens of thousands of gallons of water it takes to put out the fire.
No HAZMAT containment rings either.
(From a former NBC NCO and CBRNE response team leader post 9/11 here).
I saw an AC Transit bus burst into flame at its rear end years ago. Faulty carburetor.
Who needs fireworks with this volcano eruption?
Incredible! Zero to a totally involved, extremely hot inferno in just a few seconds. Fortunately, I believe that bus was empty of people. Hope so.
Just think what would have happened if that fire started while driving down the road with a full load of passengers.
they should put the batteries on the back of the bus
that thing would have taken off like a rocket
“Ever see a gas powered city bus spontaneously burst into flames? -Nope. “
Many!

Things like this happen frequently in moslem countries like France...
NBD!
