No, President Biden, the pandemic is not over
Washington Post (democracy dies with democrats) ^ | 9/19/22 | Editorial Board

Posted on 09/19/2022 10:12:58 PM PDT by Libloather

“The pandemic is over” is surely what everyone wanted to hear. President Biden made the declaration in a Sunday “60 Minutes” broadcast. But before rushing out to the ticker-tape parade, sit down. The pandemic is still raging - in the sense that a dangerous virus is infecting, sickening and killing people, mutating to survive and haunting the globe. The pandemic has shifted - and normalcy has returned in many ways - but it is not over.

Why Mr. Biden said otherwise is obvious. The midterm elections are coming, and Americans feel an overwhelming sense of fatigue. “If you notice, no one’s wearing masks,” the president told journalist Scott Pelley. “Everybody seems to be in pretty good shape. And so I think it’s changing.”

No hard-and-fast rules mark the exact moment a pandemic ends. The nation and the world have come a long way since the early lockdowns and the devastating delta and omicron waves. Vaccines against the coronavirus are safe and highly effective, giving people confidence to resume many activities. Classrooms are back in person, air travel has revived, commuter traffic is picking up. A lot of the worst misery is in the rearview mirror.

But the pandemic is surely not over. The seven-day moving average of daily deaths in the United States is nearly 400 and has plateaued at this terrible level since April. The average of new daily cases is 60,000, way higher than in the spring. Weighed down by the virus, average life expectancy of Americans fell in 2020 and 2021, the sharpest two-year decline in nearly 100 years. Covid-19 is the third-leading cause of death in the United States after heart disease and cancer. Long covid - those suffering a constellation of maladies after the immediate symptoms dissipate - threatens millions of people.

There was a pandemic of poor government decisions.

Because the government is led by a senile old perv being led by a secret cabal of anti-Americans the pandemic continues.

The pandemic is tyranny and they will now NEVER let that be over.

It is not about health and never has been. They want complete control over everyone’s life.

Realize that this is, to put it nicely, a conflict of interest.

Amazon owns the Compost.

The “pandemic” was hyped by the Compost, Facebook, Microsoft, bug tech because it brought huge market shares to them and supported their business models.

No one ever pointed this simple fact out. Compost should have had a disclaimer on every single article they wrote that Covid policy that decreased in person business increased their business.

OK so lets cut to the chase.
Jeff Bezos , who owns the Washington Post, watched his wealth skyrocket during the “pandemic” lockdown, as locked down people ware forced to buy from Amazon, because the shops were shut.
Amazon made a fortune.
Bezos and Zuckerberg are nut doing so great after the lockdowns. Zuckerberg’s net worth for example, has PLUGEd by moe than 50%.
Meanwhile, Bezos has recently done big layoffs at the Washington Post as his wealth plummeted after the lockdowns.
If the Washington Post thinks we are going to tolerate yet another Demotes Joe lokdown, the WaPo is far more stupid than I thought
Not gonna happen.

Vaccines against the coronavirus are safe and highly effective, giving people confidence to resume many activities.

Still the same misinformation from the Washington Post.

@ 9 - that quote from the article is hilarious! I guess they will keep telling themselves that no matter what evidence is in front of them.

The article has errors. The most glaring is the 7-Day average of covid daily deaths is well above 400. The reason they’re getting that wrong is because counting has changed from last year. The accurate number of daily deaths will not be available until about 3 weeks have passed so that death counts can trickle in and accumulate for a given day.

For example August 17th is reading 703 deaths. That number was about 670 just 2 weeks ago. It takes time for the data to arrive and be tabulated.

The reason there are no masks and people think that it’s in the past is because the DNC commissioned a study in January of what needed to happen to try to salvage the midterms. The survey returned a single answer. Get the virus off the front page. Take whatever action you need to take to pretend that the virus is no longer killing people.

And so the MSM got their marching orders and proceeded to de- emphasize all things virus

Yea, it must be the covid what's killing people, right Owen? Can't be the virus, or GOD FORBID the good old fashioned flu. Remember the flu that disappeared for two years?

I still say renaming Flu into Covid was the most brilliant marketing stroke in the last century. WaPo is still riding the wave, tracking ‘cases’.

A 5% increase over a fractional subset of the population — that subset being 0.0002% the size of the total. That’s an effective increase of 0.00001%

What exactly are you hanging onto, Owen?

(Why Mr. Biden said otherwise is obvious. The midterm elections are coming,)

Even Washington CommiePost can figure that it’s a midterms stunt.

Still, it should fool the stupid.

Correct, there never was a pandemic. Not based on the old fashion definition of pandemic, which required a high percentage of people to die from the disease alone.

That never happened with covid. Very, very few healthy people died of just covid.

Covid death toll still remains around 2 tenths of one percent, just like (or less than) a bad flu season.

The “pandemic” never really got off the ground. Now that we know medical professionals, hospitals and politicians were targeting some americans for death, well, this was an assisted plandemic.

“Covid death toll still remains around 2 tenths of one percent, just like (or less than) a bad flu season.”

In the very beginning that’s what Fauci said, along with masks don’t stop respiratory viruses.

Post Davos, he did a 1-80.

Scamdemic. Davos 19.
