I noticed the same - search results suck.
There were some articles here recently re: their left turn.
Use “Brave”.
Yes! I noticed that also! I am looking for another group I can use. Or I might as well go back to Google because DuckDuckGo is just the same now. Boy did they bait and switch.
It’s NOT just a problem with COVID research.
It’s. now immediately defaulting to google type leftist sites on all things politics - literally !
Almost no difference at all now.
Obviously something is badly amiss in ducky land.
I had not noticed that, although have noticed a change recently. The search results seemed to be terrible. IE: not relevant to the actual search.
I thought DDG used the Google engine at its core.
I recommend Startpage...
Yes. Wish I had the link handy but I’ve seen the evidence.
Use Brave, it’s open source.
I switched from DDG to Qwant months ago for that reason.
READ later!
I read some time ago that DDG went to the dark side. Someone I trust uses Brave.
Yes they did. They had an announcement about it.
DDG also relies on the Google database.
Brave.com is far superior for many reasons, most notably it relies on Google for nothing. But itâs not nearly as corporate as Google. Not only does Google have a left bias, the first three or four pages are all paid for slots. Itâs completely worthless.
They advertise all the time on NPR. You do the math.
Gibiru and Dogpile.
I’ve abandoned DDG in favor of Brave browser and search. Results are better and the ad blocker works pretty well.
They are all the same no matter what you use. They all lead to leftist sites.
I read an article the other day that was saying that info all over the net is being taken down.
It is hard to do a search for controversial topics now. You can’t find content that used to be there.
Too bad. All good things must come to an end, I suppose. You have to wonder if this was precipitated by a “friendly” visit from some authorities.
Somewhere on my computer are a series of screen shots I took of search engine results for the phrase âHillary Clinton isâ taken sometime prior to the 2016 election.
If EVER you wanted to prove to yourself once and for all how lock-step those search engine algorithms are, Iâll leave the results of the exercise to the student.
