Did "DuckDuckGo" change their search parameters? Everything leads to leftist sites---especially on covid/Vax

I don't get this. I run Brave as my primary browser on all my computers, and I have for years now. Duckduckgo was the default search engine that came with Brave and I've never changed it.

Duckduckgo is listed as the "default" search engine in Brave's settings. To my knowledge there is no Brave search engine.

Not only does Google have a left bias, the first three or four pages are all paid for slots. It’s completely worthless.

The other thing about Google is that it might look like it gets more results (millions!) for a search but after three or four pages they just start showing the same ones over and over and over and over. They show less than 100 or so hits, that's it.

The internet was great but it's failing. A few major corporations are collaborating with the state to gatekeep information now. Textbook fascism.

https://brave.com/search

Download it and change it to your default search engine.

Background dive:
https://www.androidauthority.com/brave-browser-search-3043749

A while back ddg struck up a partnership with Brave. But ddg was relying to an extent on Google.

Brave open source community saw what was happening and brought forward Brave Search.

Open source is the way to go.

Hope that helps.

Brave does have a search engine. It’s on the newer side of things.

Already far less bias than Google, and I’m not talking about just politics.

I tried to buy a particular piece of furniture and couldn’t get anywhere with all the paid garbage on Google and Bing and DDG. Second result on Brave search.

DDG has been compromised for a while, but at least they don't track you all over the place like Google.

I've been using Brave search lately.

Good question. I use both, so not experienced using Brave search outside Brave browser.

BUT Brave search is downloadable separately, so seems it can be used in other browsers.

Try it and let everyone know, thx.

Thanks for the links. The Brave search engine is already a year old, bad on me!

Installed new updated browser and indeed brave is the default search.

I’ve been using BRAVE for the past year now, after DDG went to the dark side.
