Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had trash thrown at him and was booed by some fans at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, as he left the field with an injury Sunday night.
Prescott left the game amid a flurry of boos during the game's 4th quarter due to a thumb injury, which will likely sideline him for at least six weeks, according to ESPN.
Some fans at the game who were upset with the quarterback expressed their frustration by pelting him with trash.
Earlier this year, fans at the stadium threw trash at referees and players at the end of the Cowboys' first-round loss in the playoffs last season. Prescott praised the fans in January for throwing debris at the refs, saying "credit to them" in a press conference following the playoff loss last season.
The thumb injury means Prescott will likely miss at least one game for the third season in a row. In 2020, Prescott suffered an injury to his right ankle in week 5 against the New York Giants that forced him to sit out the rest of the season, and in 2021, he suffered a calf strain that caused him to miss a week 7 game against the Minnesota Vikings.
"It's very disappointing, but injuries happen, can't necessarily control it, just unfortunate," Prescott said in a press conference after the game. "Obviously going to miss some time, not be there for my team, and that's what hurts more than anything, especially after the start we just put out there. Wanted to be able to respond, and not necessarily having that opportunity for several weeks, yeah, it's unfortunate."
The Cowboys lost the game to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 19-3, with Prescott finishing the game with 14 pass completions for 134 yards, one interception, and no touchdowns. With the loss, the Cowboys remain winless against Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.
Well at least that’s one game this year the Lions should win.
How about them and/or their wife’s wearing another guy’s name on their back? LOL.
Maybe you couldn’t detect the tongue-in-cheek humor. Too subtle, I guess.
I have nothing but spite for spoiled rich playas who spite me, my country and my flag. The only time I watch them is when I’m annoying Mrs M as I flip through channels. Hard to tell who’s who on the screen as they keep changing their uniforms.
I’ll definitely have to work on my humor.
If he was in Philly, it would have been D-cells.
North Dallas Forty movie.
But they made up for it by not blocking.
Eagles play Minnesota next week. Won’t be undefeated for long.
How ‘bout that Sun Belt Conference!
Should’ve beaten North Carolina, though.
These headlines are really getting absurd. hardly pelted with trash.
Who watches NFL anymore?
Our vective is aimed at the enemy or Santa.
As an Eagles fan, I consider this Cowboys fan behavior a travesty of a mockery of a sham of a mockery of a travesty of two mockeries of a sham.
Congrats to you guys! I always liked you App State folks. Had some enjoyable times in Boone when in school in Raleigh.
Good on ya!
How’s the surf fishing? God, I miss those beaches!
A Berniebot acquaintance just began her graduate work at the GHWBush School at TAMU. Like most of her style, she is above the concern for Aggie football. Since my dad went to A&I before it became A&M Kingville, I probably had more riding on the game emotionally than she did, which wasn't much. (Watching the Gators stink in the Swamp was bad enough.)
If there's one place in the country it's probably a good idea to ban guns, it's Lincoln Financial Field, other than the whole team being shot, how was the game?
I live 40 minutes West of Philadelphia-—that was nothing compared to the stupid fans we see here.
And they deserve to be.
I say that as a long suffering Dallas fan.
I hate Jerrah.
“Two paper cups??? Is that the best they can do?”
Probably two Eagles fans that ran out of other stuff to throw...
Yep.
And all this was supposed to happen under Tom Landry’s time.
Unbelievable but probably true.
