IMO Ev's were a very good idea until brandon and his jamokes came to town.

And powering large cities with chemical batteries is the work of Harold Hill and or some total idiots.

And DUMBGRUNT is furiously double-posting paragraphs!

I've posted this a number of times, but it is well worth reading (or watching the embedded video) for a clear, level-headed look at the materials needed for the first generation of the "green revolution." Bottom line: "The “Green Revolution” Is Impossible."

When one of these gigafactories goes up in flames, it will be a doozy.

Then what will the anti-nuke, anti-coal, anti-oil people say?

EVs might have been a good idea . . . over a century ago.

In a 1956 scientific paper Marion King Hubbert introduced the world to the theory of peak oil where he predicted that US peak oil production would occur between 1965 and 1971 and that global peak oil would occur in the early 2000’s.

Copper Supply
According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), 2019, global copper reserves are estimated at 830 million metric tons, with annual demand being 28 million metric tons. In addition, discovered and undiscovered deposits based on geological surveys, including reserves, total over 5 billion metric tons (USGS, 2014, 2017). Take into account that copper is 100% recyclable and it is safe to say that there is currently enough copper to meet EV demand.

“Our research predicts this increase will raise copper demand for electric cars and buses from 185,000 tonnes in 2017 to 1.74 million tonnes in 2027,” Gonzalez said.

Proving once and for all that “green energy” has nothing to do with protecting the environment.

Wonder what they’ll do. Just have to let it burn itself out I’m guessing.

Hard to imagine all the toxins that will be released into the air and water.

Insane. All to appease the NWO, WEF and liberals.

Live Steam was a good idea over a century ago. Some of the equipment design was amazing for that age.

My grandfather ran the last thrasher that was run in this county. It was in a year when the wheat fell and they had to bundle it and thrash it to save the grain.

Combines are still amazing machines to watch in use.

So are cotton pickers.

Electric cars have never been a success. Not from the beginning.

But diesel powered electric generators have powered the electric drive systems for Euclid Truck have been a reliable way to haul ore from mines for a long time. Good friend of mine was the machine shop foreman at Kennecott Copper at the Santa Rita Mine in NM (they sold it). He was great at repairing them.

And all those other minerals?
And of course rising cost have no effect on EV practicality. /S

It’s not just copper. It’s two dozen different minerals and metals. As the author pointed out, some of them would consume 20,000 years of production at today’s production rates. Don’t just fixate on copper. Watch the video. He is very credible.

Did you read my link about peak oil in 1956?

well personal transportation will only be affordable for the rich and political elite once they go all green on energy

so that is why they are not worried about it

the serfs get bus subway bike or a good pair of sneakers

they promise jetsons
you get flintstones

“today’s production rates”

You can’t use today’s rates. For example lithium production has increased 3x in just 5 years.

At it’s most basic, your EV cannot be charged/run without coal, oil, natural gas, nuclear and hydro.

Evil fossil fuels are necessary to power the electric generation station your EV needs. Without fossil fuels, your EV is worthless.

Something to think about.
