SpaceX fires up all 6 engines of Starship prototype ahead of orbital test flight (video)

SpaceX fired up the engines of its space-bound Starship prototype Thursday afternoon (Sept. 8) in a dramatic test that also set some of the surrounding landscape ablaze.

All six of the Raptor engines on SpaceX's Ship 24 vehicle blazed briefly Thursday at 5:30 p.m. EDT (2130 GMT) at Starbase, the company's South Texas facility. The "static fire" test marked another step toward launch for Ship 24, which is slated to conduct the Starship program's first-ever orbital test flight in the coming months.

The static fire lasted just a few seconds, but flames burned at Starbase for a while afterward. The test sparked a grass fire that brought the local fire department out as a safety precaution...

So, unlike NASA, Musk’s ship was fueled, had no leaks, and actually fired up? Amazing. And, he’s probably doing it with no joke woke clowns, outreach to muzzies, and other crap. Perhaps hiring talent that actually could pass real STEM requirements just might work well. May all leftists be forced to fly on leftist junk.

Meanwhile, Biden’s NASA has thrown the race, part of the Biden crime family’s Chinese collusion.

Besides the Saturn V / Apollo 11 moon landing and the first launch of the Space Shuttle, the first launch of Starship24 w/Booster7 will be one of the greatest moments in all of Space history!

We have to be understanding - after all China DID give lots of money to Hunter... and to other deadbeat sons of DC's 'elites'....

Actually, in some respect, NASA was constrained by Congress, which required the SLS program to use existing Space Shuttle technology. The main booster of the SLS is a stretched space Shuttle external tank. The four main engines are the same model the Space Shuttle used and the two solid boosters are the same as the Space Shuttle.

Of course, that makes NASAs failure all the more glaring in some ways.

IMO, NASA is nothing but the FBI equipped with rockets that sometimes work. Useless for any real civilian advancement.

I call NASA the “dog ate my homework” agency.

They manufacture excuses in their assembly line.

Yes, I remember when NASA hired the 'best and brightest'... that time is past.
