Here's Why You Should Lawyer-Up Before Sending Your Kids Back to School

Smart parents can reduce the amount of political and cult programming their children are exposed to by establishing from the outset what the students’ rights are, as well as the consequences the schools could face—that will make everyone’s life miserable—if those rights are not respected. I do it in the form of a letter announcing to the district that my child has a lawyer and asking them to put the lawyer’s information in her file. It requires the district to call that lawyer in the event that any government agent, police officer, social worker, or another official should want to talk to my child.

You can homeschool through high school.

That’s like sayin the pedophile is the only babysitter available. Perhaps figuring something else out would be better.

These days, false reports of child abuse can be made by anyone who wants to punish you for perceived offenses. It’s a form of swatting, only they show up to your children’s school instead of your house.

A FAFO letter is a really good idea.

“If you’re still sending your kids to public schools, YOU should be in prison.”...kinda harsh statement to make.

Both parents work, like many Americans, private school is too expensive, and home school is out since the parents work and are not themselves educated past high school. Yet you suggest they home school...is that your contention???

Simplistic throwaway statements like you made is not going to solve our education problem. Getting involved in the curriculum, getting on the school board, are ways parents can indeed effect what is being taught in our schools.

A majority of our children will be educated in public schools...that’s just the way it is. So parents need to make sure they are educated not indoctrinated. And banning books the don’t fit a particular set of views is not the answer either.

Wow, I have not heard of that. Our last kid exited 12th grade about 13 years ago. Times have changed!

The above wasn't addressed to me, but I want to point out that all kinds of families homeschool successfully. Two working parents, single parents, grandparents, and parents at all income levels - many different families make it work.

Most other parents just don't want to homeschool because they don't understand it and they don't want to be bothered with it - that's the real reason.

So did I. Always good to expand my vocabulary. Also, perfectly appropriate use.

I am not in favor of child soldiers.

Bravo.

I understand the theoretical intent of the letter. It's cute.

In practice, Ms Fox put an effective target on her child's back. Further, the child is at the range from 8am-3pm M-F.

This letter "outs" the child as a Conservative and makes it the main course on the leftist's dinner menu. In turn, educators have worked for decades at skirting the rules and the law. Does anyone reallly believe educators won't have a go at this child?

People would be better off taking the money they’d pay for a lawyer and putting it towards a good private school that doesn’t participate in the nonsense they’re “teaching” in public indoctrination centers (schools).

Lots of luck trying to find a good private school like that. If you think private schools are better than private schools, you are wrong.

“If you think private schools are better than public schools, you are wrong.”

That’s correct. Teacher and educational administration training programs and national education associations are all part of the same Marxist-infiltrated academe. Paying big bucks for your kids to attend secular and even many parochial private schools does not block them from the same garbage brainwashing.

Have to concur here. Private schools of the parochial flavor as almost as bad.
Our grandkids now are part of a school that is run by traditional Catholic nuns. Latin is taught as well as many of the 60 year old texts.
