EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more
I’m glad you enjoyed your talks. I think the PT is helping with the sciatica. I can lie on my right side without pain, now, although something still feels not-quite-right about my right thigh.
I need to thaw out some sauce for the bros’ dinner tonight and go to Walmart for a few things.
There was a Belgian who spoke at the evening session, but I’ll take a shower before I listen to him. I can still hear his delightful voice in my head from the last talk I heard from him early last week. (2020, preaching to the chairs)
I’m glad the PT is helping even if it’s only a little; it’s still early in the healing process. Perhaps your therapist can enlighten you of the not-quite-right thigh problem.
Could you pick up a meatloaf dinner for me while you’re at Walmart, please? I forgot to order one... ;o]
Now, I’m off to the shower.
The back nerve is causing the thigh discomfort, mainly, although there’s also muscle fatigue because of the exercises. I have appointments Monday and Wednesday next week.
Thanks! I’ve been engaged in a project or two.
I know the drill: If you tell us, you'll have to kill us.
But (FWIW) we have all missed you and your wit.
Muscle fatigue makes sense, in view of the fact that some muscles are not used on a daily basis, no matter how active we think we are. I hope you continue to improve.
The shower was almost the perfect temperature, for the first time since I moved here! But yesterday, I had to flush the shower drain, and may do it again later in the week, just to make sure it’s really free.
CFIDS causes hair loss, and the shower drain has half-inch drain holes. That wasn’t a good thing, so I found a shower plate at Walmart that had smaller holes. It does a fairly good job. I’ll be sure to take it with me!
In other news, not apropos anything in particular, I got four texts in rapid succession just as I was on my way to the shower. I thought it was FD but it was something about “oprahdiet” and I went to delete them. I didn’t realize until it took longer than “normal” for them to go to cyberspace that I had deleted every conversation in my file. Including the last contact I had with Sharon in Hurricane before she passed away. So I’m going to contact the carrier and find out how much it will cost to get a transcript of certain files. That one specifically.
Sorry about your accidental deletion. I delete everything from time to time.
Thanks. I delete some text messages, as well, but some I don’t. Ever. I would print them out if I had a way. But it’s too late now. It even deleted all the photos you sent, and some, I didn’t save, not realizing I’d have a brain-fade that would do a job.
Good morning and a blessed Lord’s Day to all.
I hope everyone is doing well. I’m enjoying these cool mornings and evenings. Coffee on the patio is nice.
I’m still residing on the four-train.

Ah, well. You saw the pictures at the time, and that’s the important thing!
I’m sorry you’re still dealing with all of that. I’m keeping you in my prayers.
Thank you. I appreciate everyone’s support. It’s not nearly as bad as it was three weeks ago.
Most of them I saved, but others were, “I can do it later.” Of course, the ones I have saved are all on the slave, so there is that.
I just finished watching the last session from yesterday. They used to all be in a two-hour time block, but now it seems to vary from two hours to ninety minutes. The pandemic had a lot to do with that.
Two sessions today and then we’re done until spring.
Good job!
Is that the Hotel California Four Train? (Asking for a friend.)
It was one of those wonky words today. I wonder if they’ll every use “wonky?” LOL!
Those X/6s come ever now and then... especially when you least expect it!
Good Morning!
It may have almost solved itself for you, ‘Face... but it was a struggle for me to claim a seat on the four train today...

One thing that works for me is to swing a baseball bat a few times, as both a lefty and righty... the proverbial "switch hitter." Doing that a few times a day usually gets it untwisted...
Good morning!
Yeah, I get it. Lots of times, I get to the sixth line and still no closer to solving it. I think it has to do with the starting word. Today’s earned me three spots, in order. Most days, I struggle. REALLY struggle. I try not to complain about it, because folks get tired of my constant whining, but very few of these puzzles come easy to me.
I don’t have a baseball bat or any baseball skill, so I’d probably hurt myself!
Walmart has raised the price of chicken breast almost $1/lb. That makes their house brand more expensive than another brand with smaller packages.
