EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more
W00t!
You might have taken a five-row slog, but you got the w00t!
Good job on both of them!
I can see where she would want to train him. Sally isn’t his mother, so he needs to be more responsible and wash his own dishes. It’s only the right thing to do as a roomie.
A nap sounds great, but I’ll just go to bed early tonight. I hope. My supplements are supposed to be here today, and I hope they aren’t late, like after 1800. I hate having to get out of bed to answer a door for a delivery. It always upsets my sleep patterns. It’s just enough stimulation that it takes an additional two hours to relax enough (again) to try and sleep. We’ll see...
Haha!
I didn’t even see the post number! Thanks!
I promise, I had nothing to do with it! LOL!
I think I’m related to the red one—thanks!
A drive-by G’daft to all! Prayers up that everyone’s safe.
Think of it this way: if you’re in a baking frame of mind, you don’t have to feel extravagant in lighting the oven.
I don’t know how I missed you this morning, but I’d should practice my aim!
Good job on the Triple!
Slightly disheveled?
G’dafternoon. We have some rain and some wind, but no trees down in our yard.
Jake and I enjoyed the nap.
I’m glad you had an enjoyable nap!
I’d like to hear the rain on the roof here, but it’s usually only when it comes down the spout and hits the diversion plate that I hear it. I heard it all the time in Hurricane, and I really enjoyed it. One in a while we’d have a thunderstorm, but here, we have those far too often and they last far too long.
Two notifications from UPS today, one saying they will be arriving by 1615 and the other that says they’ll be here by 1900. So which is it? In Hurricane, it was often delivered by OnTrac, which seemed to have lots of drivers who couldn’t speak English and had no clue when told “Wrong address!”
Even that could be something to be missed and looked forward to. Maybe.
Would it be so difficult to get Pat a little gorm?
w00t!
Hopefully that makes up for the 5/6.
He works at Walmart: he can buy his own.
Maybe things will have changed in the delivery business.
One can only hope. Maybe a lot of things have changed since I moved, but I hope not the things that are the most important — like Pine Valley Mountain!
I’m pretty sure you’ll find the mountains where you left them.
Yeah, you’re probably right about that, come to think of it!
The UPS order came and right on the heels of it came my SAD light! Seriesly! The UPS truck was just pulling forward from the back-out, and the Prime driver announced himself! Great timing!
I was in bed, but that was OK because I hadn’t settled in for the night. Then the phone rang, then the text, then another call, and I got up to wash my face and get ready for bed. And then I got another call, and here I am.
I swear, the previous owner of this number must have done a runner. One day alone, it got 16 calls. I have so many on the block list it isn’t funny. I have to go through and block, then delete the numbers about once or twice a week, and still I get calls. I’ve never seen so many spam calls!
Anyway, I’ll listen to a talk, then try again. They seem to have no concept of time, so often, it’s 2100 before the last one comes in.
Sounds busy. It’s still raining and windy here.
Looks like the rain will stop shortly after midnight, and there’s only a moderate chance of more tomorrow.
