EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more
Happy Friday Eve!!
That’s good about the gift card, as long as there are no qualifiers attached to it.
When I first signed up for health insurance here, I was sent a gift card with $500 on it for dental, vision and surgical use.
My Foursies are running away with the game.

Good morning.
Good job, though! At least you didn’t have to go to Line 7!
I hate those tricksie words!!
It was definitely one of those words.
Yes, thanks. I need to be more careful and consider which of the possible choices I type in... although there is no guarantee that a more commonly used word will be the correct one...
I hate when the word has four correct letters, in sequence, and the last one could be one of five. And I’m down to my fifth choice.
Then is the time I need to let my mind go for a walk!
Good morning! My sister weathered Ian OK. She’s still holed up at the Emergency Operations Center, but I think she’s headed home shortly. Praying that she had power and water. Her area didn’t get hit as badly as expected, thank God, but Ft. Myers, Punta Gorda and that area is really smashed up.
I’ll coordinate with my sister on how I can help when she has time to catch her breath.
Stayin’ alive five!

Excellent news on your sister!! She has been in my prayers, as well as my family members who live there.
Good job on the Fiver!
It wasn’t a fun word today. Or maybe I say that because it was just a little more elusive after the first two lines.
Glad to here it. My mother is fine in The Villages: watching the rain with her cat.
We’re supposed to get heavy rain tomorrow. I’ve been to Walmart!
Walmart delivered my groceries at about 0740 this morning, so it’s a good thing I got my glad rags on when I did!
The owners are here, making sure the repairs are made in time for the federal inspectors next week, so I’ll be sure to repaint the door either tomorrow or Saturday. I’d love to go to Walmart, just to walk around the perimeter a couple of times. (It’s HUGH!)
Maybe next week.
It was 48° when I got up this morning.
Then’s the time you need to open an incognito browser, navigate to Wordle, start the game with your 6th choice, and try 5 more times without fear. When you get the answer, go back to your logged session and enter the word.
Heard this from a friend. :^
LOL!!!
What a way to scam the system! Or, you could just Google the answer. I mean, I’m sure its tomorrow, somewhere. ;o]
It’s chilly here, too. We’re having choir practice this evening, because we might not get another opportunity before Sunday. Tomorrow is supposed to get the worst weather. I wouldn’t be surprised if the county closes the Agricultural Center for the day, and then we wouldn’t have Envirothon.
I’ll have to paint the door for sure tomorrow or Saturday. I was hoping I’d be able to go for a walk, but I may have to wait until next week to do that. Monday is not only laundry day, but payday as well, so it won’t be a fun day for me at all.
Maybe this time next year will be better.
I hope next year will be better!
The Parks will be closed starting tomorrow, so James won’t be working, and the Ag Center will be closed, so no Envirothon.
Also, I picked all my Serrano peppers, because I don’t think the plants will make it through significant winds. I’d already put a tomato cage over one because it had toppled over. It’s about the end of the season, anyway.
Well, at least you know ahead of time, but it’s still disappointing.
Nothing is worse than having to hunker down and wait until the storm/hurricane/tornado passes. I mean, there are only so many games of UNO that you can play without going to jail for what you’re thinking. ;o]
We have lots of good games. My mom says Comcast went down in her building, but other than that, everything is fine.
The choir took some of the serranos, but I have a bunch more. I’ll bag some up and take them to church on Sunday. I’m sure others will want them.
We had a really nice shade of purple for about five minutes around 7:15 p.m. I stopped choir practice so I could take a picture.
I “saw” that as I was reading, Bob, which is why I like your poetry so much. You are so GOOD at it!
I could never find the right words to rhyme. The one really good poem I wrote was destroyed by the late Igor, and it was long enough that I can’t even begin to try and reconstruct it.
