EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners
DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.
From FaceBook:
Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more
The only thing wrong with me going to bed is that Mona will be back, I’m sure, so no matter how well planned it is, bedtime will be interrupted.
And always, at the same time, is the same question: Oh. Did I get you out of bed? I didn’t know you went to bed so early.
So I’ll go ahead and “go to bed,” but I don’t think it will be uninterrupted.
I hope you have a good evening, and after the choir practice is done, I hope you have a good night! Sleep well!
Thank you. You could put a note on the door that says, “Closed for the evening, please call again!”
Yeah, that would work. Not. There’s already a sign up that says “ALL DELIVERY DRIVERS PLEASE RING BELL! THANKS!” on yellow cardstock, but there are always those who can’t read. And I can’t hear anyone knock.
Tonight, though, it was FD, showing me her new sweater coat. In a luscious Federal blue cable knit that has the look of denim. Envious, I am. She’s so tiny, she can wear anything and it looks good.
Anyway, I’ll listen to an uplifting talk and do a jigsaw, and go try again. (So far, no Mona. *shhhhh!*)
It sounds very pretty.
I hope things remain clam there. I need to read to Kathleen a bit before I give up on the day.
I’ll send you a pic tomorrow, when I know you will welcome the diversion. ;o]
How sweet is that?
Good morning. I hope you slept well.
I was a slug. I didn’t set my alarm and though I had some interrupted sleep, I managed to get more sleep than I thought I would. It’s been a lot of years since I rolled out of bed this late. I’m not going to hit the ground running because there is no need. It’s Caturday.
Good morning Ganag!
I seem to be hitting the Foursies and the Triplets with alternating regularity. Arrgghhh!

Is that him releasing his second chakra?
Good morning!
You go, you!
I think I’ve had two or three of those, but the record isn’t good. LOL!
Since I got up so late, the entire day is going to be laid back. Movies! I think I’ll start with “The Wind And the Lion.” True story.
I didn’t set my alarm, either. I puttered around, cut up some vegetables, went to a church meeting, went to Walmart, and now I’m cutting up more vegetables. I mean, I was a second ago, and I’ll get right back to it.
I behaved like a slug. Mona came over. She’s lost the SIM card from her phone, now, but is cleaning house trying to find it. Starting with the bedroom closet. Yeah. Like that.
Her ex-husband is loaning her a phone until she can get to the Cricket store and reactivate her phone under a new program, where she only has to pay $30 a month. Good for her.
I’m trying to resist the urge to eat but I think the hypoglycemia will win this round. Unngh. I need to lose weight. I really need to get that last 10 lubs off of my body.
I’ll be around for a while, yet.
I’ve done a lot of prep for meals for the next several days. Hopefully this will make things go more smoothly, although if people can’t turn the oven on at the assigned time, that’s a problem.
That was from a video a Japanese news team made to describe what it was that Gore did with a Japanese Masseuse who came up to his room, but...they made it with a generic man’s face, so...I photoshopped him in...:)
Yes, I understand the oven and assigned time being a problem. Some folks just have no concept of responsibility.
Even though I got up very late this morning, I seem to be worn out by Mona’s many visits about her phone. (Four? Five?) I need to take my pills and get ready for the Blanket Show before she comes back. The pain in my back is increasing with the stress.
So I’ll say good night for now, and hopefully, I won’t be interrupted again.
He fussed a great deal over not being allowed to use the computer for the rest of the day. Turkey. He’s at work this afternoon, expected home about 7:30.
My cruciferous vegetables are getting holey again. I put more diatomaceous earth on. If it doesn’t rain tonight, maybe the munchers will die.
Wooohoo on the two! ππ
