EV runs out of juice, pushed by coal miners

DC tourist ran out of battery in the middle of a remote West Virginia road on Friday, near a coal mine on Mettiki Coal access road U.S. 48, a few miles outside of Davis, according to WTRF.

From FaceBook:

Randy Smith on Friday Some days are just better than others. Today at our mine off Corridor H an electric car from DC ran out of battery at the road entrance to the mine. Someone called one of our foreman and told him a car was broke down in the middle of our haul road. He went to investigate and found out they had indeed ran out of juice coming from DC to Davis for a get away weekend. He then went back to the mine and got guys to push the car to the guard shack so they could plug in to charge. ... See more

I’m sure you’re right about Mae. Cats don’t like their pampered lives disrupted for any reason. But I’m sure Patrick will bring her to the invisible side.

Now, I’m heading for the shower. I sure hope there is hot water instead of tepid again.

Good morning. Happy Humph Day!

I had a hard time believing it was only Humph Day today. It seems later - like October.

More rain in the foreguess. I need to figure out how to ship it to those of you who need it.

Still peacefully riding the four train.

The Four Train is a good place to be!

And I agree about it being only Wednesday instead of October.

Happy Odin’s Day to all.

I went to the physical therapist. He was very nice and will, I believe, be a lot of help with my sciatica. He showed me some exercises and said to start them tomorrow.

Happy Odin’s Day to you as well!

Hoping that the PT helps... I’ve some bouts of sciatica in the past, can be very uncomfortable...

Yes, it is Odin’s Day, isn’t it?

So, Hyvää Odinin päivää in Finnish!

It’s excellent that the therapist knows what he’s doing. Having someone who is knowledgeable as well as empathetic is a major help in being able to overcome the problem.

He was very pleasant, seemed like an infant although he must be in his 30s: there’s a lot of education to be a PT. He prayed for me at the beginning, after asking politely if it was okay.

How sweet was that? Not everyone has the humility to pray for other people in “public” like that.

I noticed that the doctors are all looking like kids, these days. Funny, but for a few aches and pains once in a while, I don’t feel a day over 35!

Yes, I really appreciated it.

We’re seeing a new Physician Assistant at our GP practice. She looks like a kid, too.

Greetings Face.

It was a most impressive event , was it not.
We also watched on YouTube later with a few beers to ease things .
On the day your moose was waiting at Windsor near the castle to say Tally-ho! The queues in London were just to long and the crowds to large for my inner monkey to cope with, during the week. So Westminster hall was out of the question.
Kind of strange, only met her 4 times but discovered that she was more than just a picture on the banknotes and coins.

For Charles and the rest of the gang she was and still is mummy....regardless of any differences.

It is the length of her reign that made this most difficult, medieval kings came and went on a conveyor belt. They were mostly unpleasant creatures so the passing was just an excuse for a party. With queens all bar Mary and Matilda who wasn’t crowned, there is always an attachment with the people.

Enough of my noise, hope you are keeping well. Will attempt to pop in later.
:)

Yes, you’re right. When push comes to shove, she was still “Mummy” and “Granny.” And that’s all that really matters.

The face of King Charles when the bier was lowered will stay with me for a long time. All four of her children looked in shock, which I’m sure had not quite begun to wear off.

It was a lovely tribute to a great monarch.

I’m very happy you got to send her off in your own way. But as I tell so many people, there are no rules for grief. Just do it your own way for as long as you feel like it.

Good morning. I hope you had a good night.

I think I did.

Today is pill sorting day, and hopefully, Matinee Day with my FS. We’ll see.

Good morning. Happy Friday Eve!

It’s a gloomy, rainy day here. That won’t mean much to Moose but it’s not the norm in this neck of the woods.

In-laws finally got the refund from the hospital that did M-i-l’s bloodwork that was fully covered by insurance and should never have been billed. But it wasn’t too bad. It only took 6 months, a dozen phone calls, and intervention from a state rep.

I don’t want to believe they’ve decided that sending unnecessary bills to seniors and slow-walking refunds hoping they’ll die first has become a profit-center for them. But when they told me they had a backlog of refunds to process I had to wonder. How does a hospital get a backlog of refunds to process?

Anyway, on with the show. This was a bit of a surprise.

Sorry about your rain, but glad to hear about the refund. That gave me an idea. I think I need to find someone to help me retrieve that $500+ that Walgreen’s overcharged me and says they have no record of.

Yes. Insurance companies do that as standard practice. A friend in Vegas had kidney and other problems due to him working at the Nevada Test Site. The government kept dragging its heels on the class action suit hoping the folks would die off and they wouldn’t have to pay.

They finally settled up and my friend bought everything he could think of to make his life easier, even though he was going to dialysis three times a week. The government (you and I) would have been paying his medical expenses for a few more years. He was a stone’s throw away from a kidney transplant and was killed in a car accident. Even so, he was happy that the class action suit was settled.
