This is the same school I’ve posted about in the past. The one that has a former doctor on trial for sexual abuse.

Mom had the boy at 17 years old herself.

At 17, he is a young man and grown up enough to know to diassociate with a clearly unfit mother. I hope he gets a ton of money from this.

You can’t change the mind of a 17 year old.
Whatever path he was on, he was going to go down it with all the consequences. By even as early as 14 years of age, the path is set most of the time.

Kidnapping across state lines is a federal offense (18 U.S.C. Section 1201). 20 years to life if the victim is under 18.

He was working at his job in Fresno at the time, and was ordered into a rental car after being presented a falsified court record by two men.

The boy had his phone taken from him and his hands cuffed behind his back, and was driven for 27 hours to Agape.

His journey continued despite the two people in charge of the transfer being phoned to tell them that what they were doing was illegal.

Sounds like abduction / kidnapping to me.

Wow.

The folks in that car are going to face a crapload of federal charges…

This school needs to make sure they have their legal ducks in a row before they do this…

I understand the need to help troubled kids sometimes against their will, but in this case the mother legally did not have the authority to authorize this which makes these folks kidnappers….

“A California mom arranged for her estranged son to be abducted after he applied for emancipation...”

If he hadn’t actually been emancipated yet, then how is it an “abduction”?

Did the father have sole custody???

I used to know the guys kidnapping cult people for deprogramming, I had a permanent job offer to help, which was tempting because it was good money and European travel, but it was just too weird and muddled morally and legally for me.

These kidnappers need to be treated as such. Just like “deprogrammers”. Lock em up for 20 years.

Kidnapping charges should be appropriate. It is according to how much political pull the kidnappers have. He was forced to go against his will. False imprisonment charges. Again, it is according to how big of donors to the Democrat Party they are.

I have a cousin that had a similar thing done with his boy. If not his son would probably be dead right now, if not the family. Kid did a 180 and is enjoying his life for the first time in years. I am sure it does’t always work, but at some point you run out of options.
