Damn....it's brutally hot...

Posted on 09/06/2022 12:39:48 PM PDT by Kevin in California

The entire state of California is a cinder box right now. Just stepped outside to grab my mail and it was sweltering. Looks like it's 103 right now. Supposed to peak at 106 but I'm guessing 110.

Hope you're all staying cool...

Once I learned home heating oil and #2 diesel from the pump are virtually identical I began using diesel to heat my home here in Maryland, saving several hundred dollars a year.

Currently, HHO is about $1.50/gallon in Montgomery county.

I am a bit confused by your post. First, where are you getting home Heating Oil for $1.50 per gallon?

The cheapest Diesel in Rockville Maryland looks to be $4.69 per gallon which is well above $1.50 per gallon.

Pep Up (actually a Delmarva supplier)

HEATING OIL $4.88*
KEROSENE $5.18*

I have a standing rule in my house.
You touch the thermostat and you’re getting a new zip code.

They do seem to have the sarcastic touch that Elijah would have approved of.

It’s routinely triple digits in many locations in California...

Read my edit.

Delmarva prices don’t equate with county additional taxes/fees.

Ya reap what ya sow. I don’t think complete annihilation is in the minds of most, but it is a possibility.

I live in San Jose. Usually, when we get a heat wave here, it’s normally low to mid 90s. The good thing is they usually only last 3-4 days before the ocean breeze (we call it natural AC) kicks in and cools things down.

This heat wave we’re dealing with now is unprecedented and is supposed to linger until week’s end.

Arghhh....

32 Fahrenheit. Someday it might be 8,000 degrees ALL the time. I hope we could call him Nebuchadnezzar the 2nd instead and it wouldn’t be political theater.

Yes, the central valley which is vast. The natural sea breeze normally doesn’t make it that far inland.

Worst I had to deal with was 117 with no electricity for fans or a/c, and very little ventilation.(had a female cat in heat who would break through the screens on the windows to get out and “roam”). PLUS,I had some type of digestive “issues” at the time(if you know what I mean)
California is so green, I wonder if the overseers know that it is now the OTHER countries of the world doing all the climate change ....see if they got the guts to go over there and snark off....
