They do that here too at 7-11. EACH shift changes to either mexican or bangladesh/india for the entire crew. It’s nuts.

I hate any kind of membership shopping establishment.
It kind of prepays the possible discount. It forces one to keep buying there, just to get their money worth.
In particular, Costco forces one to buy huge package, often one ends up throwing away most of the stuff.
Guest visiting Costco, I bought there some chicken salat.
We ate it for a week! I still remember the horror of Costco chicken salat

I wonder how BJs compares to Costco. We have both, within a few blocks of each other. The Costco gas station is in the same huge parking lot as the store, whereas the BJs gas station is many miles away and thus not used by me. I have a standard short list of items I find cheaper at BJs than at other stores, but most stuff is in too large a quantity for me or just stuff (like junk food) that I do not buy.

I just picked up a VERY PART TIME job because everything has become so damned expensive I was starting to struggle!! I was doing so great when Trump was in office the difference is astounding, I honestly don’t know how people with teenage boys who eat everything in sight are managing!! Anyway I was SHOCKED starting pay was $18.00 an hour, THEN after 90 days I was able to cancel my private supplemental medical for medicare because I could get it through my employer for $250.00 a month less!! I work 15-20 hours a week and it has made my life more comfortable!! I had no mortgage, debt free, and YET I was still struggling!! I live on a golf course I love to feed the ducks and geese I was paying $2.25 for a large container of oats, in the last 3 weeks that same container of oats now costs me $4.39 GEEZE, groceries and paper goods are OUT OF CONTROL!!

I can’t speak for their bananas, but cheese, milk, meats and such are much more affordable.

I live pretty close to a Costco, and have figured out that the best time to gas up is near closing time. Lines are really short and the savings can be 20-50 cents per gallon. Right now gas is $2.95 compared to $3.55 at Quik Trip. With a 20 gallon tank on my truck, I’ll save 12 bucks. On one fill up. As for the groceries, I’ve found there’s about 15-20 items we get about every two weeks. The prices are good, but the selection is not. At least for me who is a little picky. All in all, it’s worth the annual fee to me.

Good point. Agreed.

We have been satisfied members since August 1994.

Besides Groceries, we have purchased 6 vehicles via Costco.

Every computer and household appliance has come from Costco since we joined. If one of the appliances or computer developed a problem, no problem during the warranty period. Just return the computer or have them pickup and replace the appliance.

Often, while online with Costco and viewing a specific product, Amazon shows their price on the same item on my computer screen’s upper right hand corner.

Costco has beat Amazon’s price on every item for years.

Amazon beats Walmart and many other optional online stores like Home Depot with their posted prices.

I go to check out Costco every few months to see if their prices are reasonable. Not for me. I would guess the prices are fine if you want bulk products as in large family, small business, or have little need for latest styles. Kirkland booze is a good deal, but there are cheaper ways to get a buzz and kill my liver and brain at the same time. Tv sets are expensive. They don’t even display 8k yet. Their washers and dryers are limited in their choice. Forget watches and jewelry.. computers are run of the mill and not cheap. Based on the girth of many of the cart pushers, I would guess many of the bulk food buyers are having to eat their food before it goes bad. Check out lines, at least 20 minutes.
Costco used to be much better. There were one of a kind, quality products, at a great price. Not so much anymore.

Pizza and hot dog/soda are good deals, but condiment/soda dispensers look like they are not kept clean.

We shop at Sam’s for some stuff monthly. Have a shared COSTCO membership with the DIL, but the nearest COSTCO is 340 mi away.

Even at 15 mi. away, SAM’s is only an occasional stop.

Still no salmon burgers at either.

We gave up on big box stores when our kids left home. But I dearly miss Costco apple pie!

I still have a blue membership card from Sam’s. It’s cracked and worn. Can’t buy gas with it.

MOST of the idiots in front of me at the cashier use EBT’s , esp. at the 99c store. These are well off people with nice cars yet here I am, paying for stuff that I worked hard for. And yeah, I see the difference when Trump was in charge. There’s a gas station in front of me that I still have the receipt for $2.99/gallon circa 2019 vs $6.29 now.
