What some people might not know is that Costco will sell items online to non-members for a 5% upcharge. I don’t get enough savings throughout the year to justify the $60 charge. If you rent cars frequently, you can usually make your fee in one or two rentals.
Costco customers are easily ID’d by their personally owned forklifts and 55-gallon drum containers,
around here it’s like a trip to India.
BJ’s failed in Columbus, Ohio a few years ago. Employees were rude and didn’t care. The worst was security at the door going through your entire purchase. I told the Manager that was the last time I would ever shop at a BJ’s - he didn’t care.
They’re Massachusetts based, so I can see the attitude problem.
No salmon burgers of late.
NOT a full content shopping venue.
Interesting. I left Sam’s Club for a few years because the announcements they made over the intercom in the location I shopped…were in Spanish. I complained to management and I don’t know what was done…if anything. I didn’t look back until the “pandemic” hit. I rejoined and haven’t been disappointed. When I signed up for new membership, they gave me a rotisserie chicken, a dozen cupcakes, and a $10 credit. I said gosh!! ☕️
Bad banana offerings.
Too green, too many in a quantum buy.
Welcome to Costco. I love you.
You just described the nearest Sam’s to us and why we stopped shopping there.
“Sams here in Indiana is typically a store in need of some serious janitorial service manned by black ghetto types. The one we used to go to closed up a couple years ago (no surprise on that).”
Since the pandemic, we don’t shop there, we go online and use their same day delivery.
Beware of their substitutions. They might substitute expensive steaks if out of hamburger. We tag everything “No Substitution!
We don’t order until a few minutes after 10 am to get the best deal ever, their roasted Deli chicken for $5.99. It feeds us lunch that day and one or two more lunches and a couple main courses at dinner.
My wife and I signed up for memberships at Costco. I heard many good rumors about their prices and decided to find out for myself.
I was disappointed after a few times visiting my local Costco. Their prices are actually higher than what I can find at my local Walmart or local Target. And shopping in bulk doesn’t add up either, since the prices my wife and I saw were no cheaper than if we bought the same amounts elsewhere.
So, my wife and I will keep our memberships, because, the price for gasoline in their adjacent gas stations really is cheaper, where we can save around 20 cents per gallon. But, I still haven’t made back the ‘price of admission’. The $3-4 I save per tankful of gas will make the memberships worth it, but only after 1-2 years.
For my wife and I, Costco savings are a myth.
Costco sells no Diesel.
A strong negative.
We’ve been Dam’s members since they were Pace. My mom gave me her extra Costco card.
It’s probably not worth having either at this point of our lives.
I went from Executive membership, to the most common one that I share with my daughter. She is an occassional shopper, in the past I was a heavy shopper with cash back amounts double the membership fee. Now I am olderly, and the things I get are few.
A big screen TV comes with 2 year warranty from Costco. Who beats that for the price?
We did buy my father in laws casket at Costco. Massive savings and the funeral director was impressed with the quality and next day delivery.
That must be a local option.
Some here in Indy have it, others don’t
It’s $18 in L.A for every McD’s, pollo Loco, Subway..and no takers. Signs are still up above the McD’s sign etc.
The average Costco customer in my area is a 60 year old white female who continually block the aisles around the food sampling areas.
