It might be a fluke, but I’ve owned two gingers and they had more health issues than all my other cats put together - especially one that had a long-hair background somewhere.
One of my rescue kitties named Jupitor (that is the name on his cage when pick up) is a ginger. He is VERY talkative, slow to act but understands spoken commands, albeit it takes hima second to sort through his ‘vocabulary’. He is a very loving cat and greats the UPS, Mail, and FedX people on the front porch, having them set packages next to him at the top of the steps.
We've got a calico, a black-and-white (tuxedo), and a white-and-black (cow cat).
We had one named (coincidentally) “Ginger”. She was so so sweet. Had her from 2003 to 2018 and never had one health issue. She saw the vet once to get required papers to fly when we moved.
