In the past we have used CTH threads to spotlight the smart thinking and resourcefulness of Treepers from all walks of life. A discussion thread where people can share tips, things that can actually be done, to help offset the financial pressures during severe economic times. I think we may all benefit from starting a series of post like that again.
Let us share our wisdom and experience again. There are many thousand who will benefit, as I have always done, from reading your smart tips and suggestions.
What ideas, tips and suggestions do you have to help people save money on ordinary life and living expenses?

I’ve worked for a couple large companies, current is a Fortune 500. Never once gotten a United Fraud form, presentation or request. If I did, I would take perverse pleasure in denying them a penny of my money.
Then I would put up my thousands of hours a year volunteering and ask who can match that.
Pages and pages of awesome tips. Especially interested in the comments about insulating your attic, tweaking your HVAC and electrical systems, etc.
I’m someone who likes to cook, repair and sew; but many big savings opportunities are in the large systems.

I suspect many of us have nieces, nephews and other relatives who will be getting the $10,000. Thanksgiving dinner is going to be interesting this year.
