Afghanistan withdrawal, 1 year later: Taliban takeover of Kabul that President Biden never saw coming
FOX ^ | 8/15/2022 | Evansky

A year ago today, the Islamic fundamentalist Taliban swept into the Afghan capital of Kabul following the collapse of the country's elected government. The last member of the U.S. military left 15 days later, capping almost 20 tumultuous years of American involvement in the central Asian country.

It started after the Taliban harbored al Qaeda and its leader Usama bin Laden – the perpetrators of the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks. The withdrawal, meanwhile, fulfilled President Biden's announcement in April last year that all American forces and personnel would leave Afghanistan by the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks.

Having recaptured territories throughout Afghanistan, the Taliban’s re-taking of Kabul was rapid and, according to many observers, not surprising.

Somehow The 1 year anniversary skipped my notice. What a SNAFU.

What did we leave behind? Friends, equipment, weapons, aircraft (enough to make the Taliban go from 0 to top 25 air forces in the world)..all total almost 8 BILLION dollars worth.

I think it’s when I first realized Biden was a horrible POTUS, of a never before seen kind.

The borders of Turd World countries were set for political reasons and not because they made any sense with regard to the ethnicities or traditions of the people in those countries.

When we went into Iraq (which we shouldn't have in the first place) we should have split the country into three for the Kurds, the Sunnis, and the Shia.

Similarly we should have split Afghanistan in half even over the protestations of the effing Pakistanis. We could have focused on protecting the area around Kabul from the rest of the country run by the Taliban.

Trying to make all of Afghanistan safe for feminists, homosexuals, and poppy growers was never going to be a good idea

For some reason, Fox News isn’t allowing any comments on this article at their site.
What took place a year ago was done deliberately. “Didn’t see it coming”...what horse shit.

In June 2021, Wilson was named as the President and Chief Executive Officer of the National Endowment for Democracy, succeeding Carl Gershman.[46] During his first few months, he managed the safe passage of 923 Afghan grantees, staff and their family members during the 2021 evacuation from Afghanistan following the withdrawal of U.S. troops.[47][48]

The National Endowment for Democracy does a lot of things that the CIA used to do like regime change.

Your number is correct. This 8 billion nonsense has been floated around in the past month as a gaslighting attempt.

You mean exactly what happened in 1980 when the Russians left and the Taliban took over Kabul. History repeats itself it’s only been 40 years you think someone would recall.

Biden never knew what was happening. He has major dementia. The Marxist Junta running the country knew exactly what was happening and arranged the handover to the terrorist Taliban. Why would they do that? Because Opium, that’s why.

After all the reporting, I thought the 80 Billion was wrong, thanks for the confirmation.

BTW, what's the difference between Afghanistan and the White House?

There are Americans in Afghanistan.

Rresident Biden never saw coming it’s because he has to do what President Susan Rice tells him what to do she still has love for her mother land Iran.

Why did we leave that equipment? The answer is simple. Biden wanted our enemies to have it. What could not have been driven out or flown out should have been destroyed. We could have even destroyed it from the air after leaving Afghanistan with carpet bombing with B52s.

What Biden did is treason!
