Burger King Is Going Big on Fake Chicken

Some of fast food’s splashiest plant-based chicken rollouts have seriously impressed us in the past. First, there was the debut of Impossible Chicken Nuggets in 2021, a product that managed to capture the brothy flavor of real cooked poultry and deliver both crunch and chew without tasting springy or spongy. (Burger King tested these nuggets at various locations last fall.) Then, KFC released Beyond Fried Chicken in January 2022; these were essentially nuggets as well, and tasted “pretty spectacular,” according to our taste test.
Both of these, however, were small-format chick’n products. The Impossible Original Chick’n Sandwich at Burger King will feature a much larger patty, meaning more surface area to load with our favorite toppings and condiments. (Impossible Chicken Patties are also being rolled out to major grocery chains nationwide.)

Haven't had a Burger King sandwich in over 25 years. I'm sure
the Impossible Original Chick’n Sandwich will do
the trick though...NOT!

They will soon substitute real meat for fake meat and not bother to tell people. If it's a fast food chain, people won't notice.

Burger Kringe already has announced its “Wokeness” so if you’re still patronizing them, YOU ARE WRONG.

I gave up Burger King years ago due to their lack of consistency and poor scores on the restaurant ratings from the inspections in my area.It seems to be a problem with Burger King everywhere. They were a better run corporation 20 years ago and you could rely on their tasty whopper. But no more.

Burger King can go eat a whopper…
To: BenLurkin
these are test runs
they are going to strangle the ranchers
so meat burgers will be $10
then fake burgers will be a more affordable option
this is how they work

The crash and burn is inevitable. When will these idiots ever learn? Isn’t there one sane person in the board room of these companies?

Back about 20 years ago a company I worked for serviced the commercial microwaves in nearly every Burger King in my state. I haven't eaten there since.
Their food production area was horrible and unclean in almost every location.
BK wasn't the only one though. I saw plenty of filthy kitchens.

About 20 years ago, I was in line at a Burger King (Portland Inl Apt, if I recall correctly, may have been somewhere else) and I watched as the cook cleaned his ear with his finger, examined it, and kept prepping burgers.
I exited the line and considered other options.
The very last time I was in a Burger King.

I used to love the whopper, but cannot stand them anymore because they suck.

“Burger King Is Going Big on Fake Chicken”
really not that big of a step down from the rest of the putative “food” chains like BK serve up ...
