Because they're so low on the food chain. Although, I di enjoy a fish steak once in a while, tuna, mahi mahi, swordfish, etc. I used to eat shark, but I no longer see that in the supermarkets.
Make sure you slip the empty can into someone else’s wastebasket, especially if the cleaners don’t empty wastebaskets every day.
No, canning makes them undetectable
check out the canned meat aisle
mackerel
herring(kippers)
anchovies
are good too
mackerel seems to be off the chart with O-3s
I once ate a can of sardines on my lunch break. I was parked in a dirt lot behind a Circle K in Casa Grande, AZ. It was over 110F that day.
On my way to the inside of the store to get a cup of coffee, I tossed the empty sardine can into the dumpster behind the store. On my way back, I had to take a wide berth around the trach can, because the fish stench had become overwhelming in the heat, in just those few minutes.
I’ve actually gotten in trouble at work for doing that! Now I just tote them to the cafeteria and dump them in those wastebaskets.
You should find another store besides Costco. They give very heavily to Democrats (millions), and nothing to Conservatives.
have to try that
thanks
i usually go with the hot sauce or worcestershire(which has anchovies in it)
It doesn’t take long. At home I usually rinse the can out and still put it in the outside trash can right away.
Not entirely true. Fish canned with oils does tend to have some of the omega-3 leech into the oil. I personally solve that problem because I consume much of the olive oil in the can. Fish packed in water do not lose very much of the omega-3's but now you get a much fishier taste.
The olive oil really does enhance the taste profile of the sardines however so I prefer the olive oil.
I would avoid any fish packed in soybean oil.
Soybean oil not good!
LOL. Back in the days when people didn’t go full HR-complaint for any prank, I can remember a few incidents of sardines being placed in inconspicuous places like filing cabinets or toolboxes.
Sardine oil down the defroster vents of a vehicle is going way too far, though.
Sardines from Latvia in tomato sauce. Tasty lunch.
Ugh God, for breakfast?
I love sardines too but I'm not going to eat them for friggin' breakfast.
They go good with a good lager and rye crackers.
I do like sardines in tomato sauce as well!

Hi.
Lenten dish...
Get a bowl and a big plate.
In the bowl put extra virgin olive oil and crushed garlic.
On the plate put cherry tomatoes, sliced cucumber, kalamata olives, feta cheese, container of hummus and Syrian bread.
Add two cans of King Oscar’s sardines out of the tin
Take a piece of bread, half a sardine (bones in) and dip into olive oil & garlic.
Enjoy.
