In a case with a direct bearing on the search warrant issued on Mar A Lago, the March 22, 2021 FBI raid on a private safe deposit box operator in Beverly Hills, California just got even dodgier, according to court documents released by different federal judge than issued the warrant. You may recall that the FBI raided US Private Vaults in Beverly Hills and seized the contents of boxes of people accused of no crimes.
Eric Boehm of Reason reports on the latest revelations that show a pattern of FBI abise of magistrate judges for the purpose of obtaining search warrants that amount to fishing expeditions – a violation of the Fourth Amendment
The FBI told a federal magistrate judge that it intended to open hundreds of safe deposit boxes seized during a March 2021 raid in order to inventory the items inside—but new evidence shows that federal agents were plotting all along to use the operation as an opportunity to forfeit cash and other valuables.
Federal agents failed to disclose those plans to the federal magistrate judge who issued the warrant for the high-profile raid of U.S. Private Vaults, a private business in Beverly Hills, California, that had been the subject of an FBI investigation since at least 2019. When the raid took place, the FBI also seems to have ignored limitations imposed by the warrant, including an explicit prohibition against using the safe deposit boxes as the basis for further criminal investigations. (snip)
As Reason has extensively reported, the raid on U.S. Private Vaults resulted in federal agents seizing and attempting to forfeit more than $86 million in cash as well as gold, jewelry, and other valuables from property owners who were suspected of no crimes.

Some competition for the IRS?
Some competition for the IRS?
Isn’t this what DEA did throughout the 1980s/1990s?
Gee Wiz, It might be time to dust off the RICO act...
I'd wager large that a detailed list of each box has already been dispatched to the local & DC IRS. Why waste a perfect chance to STEAL? What I'd like to know is at what point did we switch to the Napoleonic standard; "Guilty until proven innocent"?
From their total silence regarding anything incriminating found at Mar A Logo, I think the next place that the FBI will get a warrant to search is Ivana Trump’s grave. They’ll claim that Trump hid stuff in her casket and vault and had her buried on his private property for safe keeping.
That sounds farfetched, but I wouldn’t put it past them.
A reason to have your own very well hidden safe.
Heh, don’t give them any ideas.
The ghouls would probably love it.
How does this guy (metmom) post so many comments and no one else does. What do you think about this??
You had to have an IRS agent with you to access your safety deposit box!
Why? Obviously so they could take your gold.
Nowadays that might take upwards of 87,000 agents prepared to "shoot to kill".
If your “well hidden safe” ever had any circulate US currency in or near it the dogs will find. Same goes for dogs trained to search for guns and ammo.
Something to consider, for sure, since we are no longer safe from our own govrnment.

My vision of a 12 slot gallows on the Capitol Mall is fading. It will have to be at least 24, or we’ll never live long enough to get the job done.
Dogs are actually pretty easy to confuddle given enough time to prepare.
I have a buddy who patrols in what-is-called Area B on TV, but is known as Judea normally. The Arabs can hide weapons using various plants and herbs and just by putting cleaning solvents or ammo about to create a complete blanket of false leads.
Especially in a place like a mechanic shop.
FBI = Fascists Bringing Inquisitions
FBI delenda est.
Misled the magistrate, you mean the Obama appointed judge? Was misled? I don’t believe that for a millisecond.
