This article is like those “medical costs in retirement” articles. It looks like a really big number that only a few can meet, but with a little bit of shuffling around and prioritizing things can be much cheaper.

I doubt them, too. I recently had a long conversation with a friend of mine whose oldest child is getting ready to start college. If he wasn’t my friend I would have come right out and told him he’s a moron for spending the kind of money on stupid sh!t over the years that he and his wife did.

What was even more remarkable is that this family was living like paupers compared to their peers among the families of the child’s classmates.
