Watson will be suspended 11 games. He’ll pay a fine of $5 million.The draft press release also mentions mandatory evaluation and another $2 million from the NFL and the Browns that will be given to relevant non-profit organizations that work to minimize and prevent sexual misconduct and assault.
He’ll be eligible to return on November 28.

I know many of you could care less but when the season starts You’ll be there in front of your flatscreens.
Suspending him for a whole year would have put the issue behind them until next season. Now it will come back just as football heats up. Wait for all the racial stuff come out and they’ll blame republicans. Plays right into our divided times.

I am glad I don’t follow the NFL. I only knew what I knew because he was in Houston.

The bonehead sports article is a little light on details. Like what DEEEshaun’s crime was, exactly.

Nope. He’s one of the top quarterbacks with one of the biggest financial contracts of any athlete ever, who was ACCUSED of rape and assault by less-than-credible women who wanted money.
None of his accusers were willing to take a lie detector test. Very telling.
He did have sexual encounters with a number of women, which is inconsistent with his public profession of Christianity.
But he is young, fit, famous, and rich. Lots of girls throw themselves at guys like this. Temptation is difficult for a young man in such a situation.
Bottom line... he did some things wrong, that he is ashamed of, but not illegal. And he was attacked partly for his Christian faith. (Even the guy’s mother was threatened.)
Looks like he may be able to put this behind him and get back to the game. And hopefully, he has learned a lesson about sleeping around.
It’s almost as if they’re cursed, except they keep doing it to themselves. The Watson deal was a screw up from the very beginning. The sad part is that they actually had a decent team, and were just a few pieces away from being an upper tier team. In no time, they will be back to 1-16 seasons.
Who?
They should have suspended him for at least two years. His contract was written so he loses only a tiny amount of money for this year. Other players have gotten multiple year suspensions for a DUI or lesser offenses. Compared to what other players have received this guy got nothing. Look at the baseball player Trevor Brower he got two years for less than what DeShaun Watson got.
