Tucker Carlson: There Are Good Reasons Why Many People Have Lost Faith In the FBI
RealClear Politics ^ | 17 Aug, 2022 | Tim Hains

FNC's Tucker Carlson reviews what was learned this week in court about the "plot" to "kidnap" the governor of Michigan during the 2020 election to highlight why many conservatives are losing trust in the FBI and federal law enforcement:

TUCKER CARLSON: By all accounts, Attorney General Merrick Garland was shocked to hear criticism of the raid on Mar-a-Lago last week. It turns out that Garland lives in such a tiny, airless world of left-wing activists and sycophants that it had never occurred to him that anyone might object to siccing the FBI on Joe Biden's political opponents.

When woke Twitter and The New York Times are your only sources of news, police state politics seems perfectly normal. Trump is bad. Find a reason to arrest him. That's how they think. So, if you watched Garland carefully at his press conference other day, you may have noticed that he appeared highly annoyed by the idea of having to stoop to explain himself to mere citizens. But he found a solution. Being a liberal, Merrick Garland's first instinct was to seize the role of victim because when you're a victim, you've already won the argument. You don't have to explain yourself. You don't have to change your behavior. You are, by definition, the good guy. The victim always is. Being oppressed means never having to say you're sorry.

So, as Garland explained at the press conference, the FBI was in fact the real victim here. Mean old Fox News was asking unfair questions and that's just wrong. So, the real problem isn't that America's most powerful law enforcement agency is dangerously politicized and corrupt. No, the real problem here is the people have dared to complain about it, and they must stop immediately or else they are domestic terrorists.

Garland seemed agitated and was about 40 minutes late. I bet he was not as agitated as Donald and Melania. Or many true Americans, for that matter. But I guess that was the purpose.

Once in a while I see a soundbite of a retired FBI agent answering with speculation about what happened.

But do any FReepers know a current or retired agent or employee willing to speak anonymously to them and tell us: Are 90% of agents dirty and Trump haters who are selling us to the BLM/Chinese Communist/Woke Dems? Or the other way around?
Anyone, please?

One needs scientific notation to adequately wrap a tie around the reasons that the FBI is slime.
Talk about defunding? Indeed.
Methinks Emperor Palpatine said it best, “Wipe them out. All of them.”

*************

As the old saw says "Republicans think Democrats are wrong, and Democrats think Republicans are evil."

We mock their notions but we are not abusive to Democrats as they are to us. There can be no question that the Democrats see Trump and his supporters as evil.

We need the FBI. You can't just defund federal law enforcement. There are a lot of federal laws, most of them are silly, some of them are not silly at all. They're very serious and they must be enforced.

Tucker Carlson sounds almost as delusional as Merrick Garland.

Tucker, please explain this to Sean Hannity and his audience. The FBI television show started airing in 1965. Things have changed a tiny bit in the intervening decades. What if the percentage of “good people” is somewhat lower than 99%? Then, there are the “good folks” who just do what they’re told, no matter what. There’s always a lot of those. Somebody is doing the raiding.

Are 90% of agents dirty and Trump haters . . .

I think your focus is too broad for the agents. They are bureaucrats. Their focus is: How do I advance in the bureaucracy?

If that means - because that's what the top levels want - politicizing their actions, including making blatantly unConstitutional raids on political opponents, then that's what they do. The fact that benefits the Chinese is not a factor. Hating Trump is too high a motivation. They don't care who the political overlords pick as a target. They care what advances their careers.

Under Administrations from both parties, agents who overstep their Constitutional limits are promoted, and covered in the event of wrongdoing. Rudy Ridge was under Bush I. Waco was under Clinton. None of the agents involved paid any penalty. And it wasn't required that they hate Randy Weaver or David Koresh, just that they do what the overlords ordered.

Conversely, if an agent - at any level - bucks the political overlords, they're out on their ass so fast that the entire story can be denied.

Does that make them "dirty?" I think so, because their oath is not to the political overlords, but to the Constitution. That's actually a bigger problem, because if they are motivated by hatred for an individual, then other individuals are not (necessarily) at risk. But if they are motivated solely by career advancement, then anyone who the political overlords choose to target is at risk.

Superb post. The “They don’t care who the political overlords pick as a target. They care what advances their careers.” part means they’re like the arrogant Yuppies that followed the hippie era. If it helps their career at the FBI (or a cabinet assistant job later) then what the heck?

Gut churning I lived long enough to see the Stalin and Mao secret police thugs model get woven into the fabric of American life now as the FBI.

Dan Bongino (former NYPD and former Secret Service) who went through FBI training has been on a tear against FBI all the way down to field agents who should know better.

I never had any faith in the FBI> I’ve always have known, since childhood, they were corrupt. Working in the intel community proved it to me. They have zero respect given to them by those in intel.

said, "if an agent - at any level - bucks the political overlords, they're out on their ass so fast that the entire story can be denied."

Example of that is Vault 7 whistle blower now in jail.
Here is an analogy of the rest.
It's not there problem is so ingrained it's scary.
8 year old Drowns in pool with 6 people looked at him and choose to do nothing. As lifeguard was looking at electronic device.

It's probably 99%. Are they always doing bad things? No. They do a lot of useful stuff. Forsenics stuff they do in their labs. They go after the cartels (but isn't that DEA territory?).

A lot of sadistic criminals out there and they bust heads and we're not missing them.

But yeah. The FBI is dirty. They're going after anyone who threatens the government in DC (that means Democrats).
