It can be frustrating engaging in a discussion where facts are denied or distorted. Equally frustrating is dealing with beliefs that are treated as facts and dependent on sound bites. Climate change is one such topic.
Climate change is a given. The Earth has never had a stable climate, which can be verified by scientific evidence. The relevant question involves the level of impact human activity is having on the climate.
The information that follows is a fraction of that collected over more than ten years. Let's organize the discussion by considering three questions.
a) What is the goal of the man-made climate change push?
Many people accept that the goal is saving humanity from an existential climate change threat. Evidence indicates that is not the case. Here is one example.
The United Nations has been one of the organizations leading the manmade climate change push. The paragraph below, from the February 10, 2015 Investor's Business Daily article "U.N. Official Reveals Real Reason Behind Warming Scare" seems to state the goal clearly.
Christiana Figueres, executive secretary of the U.N.'s Framework Convention on Climate Change, admitted that the goal is not to save the world from ecological calamity but to destroy capitalism. "This is the first time in the history of mankind that we are setting ourselves the task of intentionally, within a defined period of time, to change the economic development model that has been reigning for at least 150 years, since the Industrial Revolution," she said.

The climate change movement has always been about destroying the free enterprise system and forcing communism on the entire world. Climate change is just the “Orchestrated Crisis”.

I used to get a laugh at idiots on the Left that wanted to debate (lol) about ‘climate change’. I asked what caused the medieval heat spike. Always the same reply, squealing, emotional, irrational non answers, ending with AND YOU’RE A RACIST, before stomping off to go smoke some weed and furiously tap on their phone. Man’s co2 amounts to just 0.00136% of the atmosphere. Our co2 has near zero effect on the climate. Even if we multiplied that amount by 1000% it still is gonna have near zero effect on the climate. There is just nowhere near enough tomcreate a thick blanket of co2 around the globe to trap,heat, sending it back tl earth to keep,the planet hot. By the time any piddling amount of heat does reach back to,the earth, it has equalized, being overwhelmed by the cooler air surrounding the earth. There is not enough trapped,heat to,be radiated back to,overwhelm the cooler temperatures that that heat has to travel,through going both outwards towards the atmosphere, and back radiated towards the earth once the co2 radiates the heat out after trapping it.
A co2 molecule traps an ir molecule, crrates heat inside the molecule, then it spits it out, radiates it out, in all directions (not,just directly,back to earth). Only a small amountmof radiated heat molecules make it back to,the surface of the earth, and by the time it gets there, it is equalized tO the prevailing temp,at that time.
Think,of it this way: tske 4 five gallon pails of 100,degree water, which is equivalent to 0.00136% of an Olympic sized pool, and dump,that into an Olympic sized pool full of 90 degree water.
What happens? Does the water become “catastrophically hot”?
No of course not. The 100 degree water from the pails quickly becomes overwhelmed by the massive amount of surrounding cooler water and almost jnstsnly reaches equilibrium with the pools temperature. The water in the pool remains 90 degrees
Keep,in mind, this is dumping ALL of the 100 degree water into,the pool too. With co2 and the atmosphere, only a tiny fraction of the radiated heat makes its way back tO earth. The majority gets rediste out in other directions, and again is a tiny amount compared to the atmosphere, so it quickly reaches equilibrium with the atmosphere temp as well
This is my understanding of the issue- there simply is nowhere near enough co2 to cause any appreciable “catastrophic effects” on earth.
Earth had amounts of co2 thst was over 1000 ppm according to some,reports,,and life thrived back then. The earth didn’t erupt into,a ball of flames, and species didn’t die out in massive numbers! We still,have billions and billions of species on the planet, including mankind. 1000+ ppm didn’t wipe everything out. Our 400+ ppm now is nowhere near what it was in the past

The prophets of this climate religion have failed the test for prophets. Not one damn prediction has come true.

That really pretty much sums up my position as well. I actually started arguing this with people on the internet even before Al Gore’s movie. The evidence is overwhelming that this is just exactly what the article says it is. And it has been for a long, long time.
