She was kept alive until the donation of her organs and tissues could be arranged.Expect few of her organs and tissues are suitable for donation following the fire, smoke and 7 days coma.

Agreed. We all make mistakes, some bad ones. Many of us have had the opportunity to live, learn from them, and try not to repeat them.
And some of us never had that opportunity.

I think it means the family didn’t keep her on life support for an extended period of time.
My mother in law was on life support for around a week, the Dr in charge of her case finally had a come to Jesus meeting with my wife. In very tactful and gentle terms the Dr made us understand that my wife’s mother just wasn’t going to get any better.
We let he go the next day....something that we probably should have done days earlier.

She lived a tortured life made so by her father and brother’s abuse. May God take her to His knee and give her the love she never got from a bad family.

Ellen destroyed her life.Or maybe her dad, or her mom or her husbands or Steve Martin or even herself ...
It's her kids who are coming out the worst from this.

That statement indicates you know nothing about this woman’s life.

I don’t remember much about her as an actress, her politics I’m sure were scary, and she seemed like a confused but okay person. In any case, that was a horrible way to go.
Prayers for her.

Her brother committed suicide by driving into a tree. I think this was along those lines.

So this garage-door thing was another addiction she couldn’t kick?
To: central_va
Ok actress. She needed help. Got little. RIP lass. For many of these troubled minds, there is no help. At least not "professional help."
If they get comfort anywhere, It will be from God.

I rather liked Anne Heche as an actress. Among the roles she had was as a “life coach” in the series “Men in Trees”. A New York denizen finds herself out on the frontier in Alaska, and has some surprising adventures confronting the various situations, including a wilderness cabin retreat. She would have probably had more peace in her life had she simply stayed in Alaska.

RIP…unintentional suicide… More likely, intentional suicide since it was her 3rd car crash that day..
Thank God I left Hollywood way back when and returned to Ohio.

This is dreadful to hear, Sir.
And I would like to express my deepest sympathy to you and your family. :-(
