Back in early 2020, Microsoft said it wasn't really a security vulnerability. It seems they have changed their minds.

I’m still waiting for Windows 9 so I can upgrade. Everone knows the odd numbers are good, the even numbers problematical.

I’ll vouch for that. I’m currently running Windows 95, and it’s smooth sailing every day.

XP was probably the best operating system MS ever developed.

Same for me except I’m running Win 7 Pro, the best OS MS has ever produced.

Win7 64 Pro. Best -client- Windows ever, IMO.
Server probably peaked at 2012 R2.

I have that on a couple of legacy boxes that are used for some vintage games.

They broke the odd/even thing when they skipped 9. 10 (while not as good as 7) is WAY better than 11.

This highlights a key difference between M$ and the *NIX world.
As soon as M$ learns of a bug, the effort to resolve it goes black. If they’re able they keep its existence secret, don’t warn the world and work on it internally and secretly, as if sticking their heads in the sans will limit the damage.
In the *NIX world, as soon as they learn of a bug they spread the news far and wide and entertain offers of assistance from all corners. Many hands make light work.
This is nothing new from M$, this is SOP.

Specifics please! I have Windows 11 on laptops and desktops. It works great for me. Why is Win7 64 Pro better? And can you even update it via the corporate updates program? Not important I suppose, for machines that are never on the internet.

"They broke the odd/even thing when they skipped 9. 10 (while not as good as 7) is WAY better than 11." One can tweak both for free to make them both much like 7.

Two years oh MS harvesting personal data. Took them that long to figure out a new way to do that.
