When the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his "I Have a Dream" speech before huge crowds on the National Mall in August 1963, the FBI took notice.
"We must mark him now, if we have not done so before, as the most dangerous Negro of the future in this Nation from the standpoint of communism, the Negro and national security," FBI Domestic Intelligence Chief William Sullivan wrote in a memo two days later.
A massive surveillance operation on King was quickly approved, and FBI Director J. Edgar Hoover became increasingly fixated on proving that King had communist ties and discrediting him generally.
The surveillance failed to show that King was a communist, but it did result in many tapes of extramarital sexual liaisons by King. So the next year, Sullivan sent the following unsigned letter to King's home. An unredacted version of it was only recently unearthed by Yale historian Beverly Gage, and published in the New York Times in November 2014:

I don’t buy into conspiracy theories, but there are far more questions than answers about James Earl Ray.
Assume that Ray killed MLK. Where did the cash come from to pay for his travels thru Canada and Europe?
I would not be shocked to find that Hoover was behind whoever was behind the gun.
But I'm sure there are Freepers who would say "then the FBI not existing would be a twofer!"
MLK Jr had lots of contacts with Soviet agents. Pres. LBJ put forth the Great Society which paid unwed females to get pregnant. So, which one was a Commie? Or just doing what the commies told them to do?! Or just a new version of FDR?

Don’t give them any ideas. I know there are hard-greens who want to kill (I think the number was ) 25 million Americans. Upping it to 70% would be a big jump. But our feds like a challenge and it would rid the ruling class of all those pesky deplorables who bitterly cling to their guns and bibles.
The fbi must bow down and beg forgiveness, and then be dismantled - after all its agents are fired and prevented from ever working in law enforcement ever again.
MLK JR was a woman beating, Blaspheming, Commie Coddler False Prophet. It is slickening that there is a day to this evil man.
So the implication is that the the fibbers have always been corrupt.
