Twenty-eight civil rights and health care groups announced Tuesday they have requested that the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) address “dietary racism” in national school lunch programs, raising concerns to the federal agency about forcing millions of minority children to drink cow’s milk without allowing them a healthier alternative.
In a letter to the USDA’s Equity Commission, the groups said the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) only incentivizes dairy milk, a policy they called “inherently inequitable and socially unjust” because children of color are more likely to be lactose intolerant — meaning they cannot fully digest sugars in dairy and can suffer from adverse effects after consumption.

Swisher Sweet and a Fanta
Or Popeye’s chicken.
I guess milk is racist now. Just add it to the list.......
Why are people so against milk now? I’ve tries soy milk, cuz my mom-in-law was into health food, but no nut milk since then. Is it cuz of cow farts? Do all nut milks contain 250 mg of calcium and 8 mg of protein and vitamin D!
Cheese has no lactose, nor does heavy cream.
Our elementary school had no lunch program, but junior high and high school had awesome, home style lunches! 35¢ each. Milk was 2¢ A half pint. I think the USDA oversaw the programs. If anyone was on free lunches, we weren’t aware of it.
My husband is 3/4 Seneca Indian. He loves milk and drinks it all the time, but a lot of Indians are lactose intolerant.

2) Obama: Do you know how hard it was to get an aide to put that bell around her neck? But it was the only way I could keep her from creeping up on me.
Free lunches....
The early Black Panthers gave free lunches to California schools along with Maoist/racist training thrown in. Early version of woke school indoctrination today.
I was shocked to hear a few years ago that the taxpayer funded regular school lunch programs (and the less publicized free breakfast programs) are cited as “sometimes the only nutrition poor students get if they are in poverty at home.”
Teachers had said some of them couldn’t learn if they were listless and too hungry for improper nutrition at home.
I wonder if the parent or parents were buying nice cars and getting premium TV and video games. Just wonder.
