Good grief! Get a load of today's immigration story in the New York Times. It is some of the best unintentional comedy of this election cycle.
First, some context: The Biden administration, with its incoherent immigration policy, has been causing a humanitarian disaster that is completely overwhelming border communities in Texas and Arizona. At resident Joe Biden's direction, the Border Patrol is now forced to process and release thousands of illegal border crossers into small towns and cities in South Texas, such as Del Rio and Laredo. These municipalities are completely unequipped to deal with this Biden-generated crisis.

At first, back in April, they were ridiculed for what was wrongly interpreted as a mere political stunt when they started offering migrants free bus rides to the major urban hubs of the United States.
But the migrants turned out to be eager to take advantage. And why not? The mayors of these two cities had ostentatiously declared them "sanctuary cities." They had boasted that diversity made them stronger and that migrants were welcome.
But - uh, oh, here come the migrants! And suddenly, these same mayors are now calling for their brown pants, calling out the National Guard, calling for federal funds.
New Yorkers and Washingtonians were happy to support Biden in causing this crisis while it was happening in distant cities far to the southwest. But send a few dozen busloads of migrants, and they're suddenly really, really upset about it. Call it "East Coast privilege."
D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser wants to mobilize the National Guard, for which immigrant advocates are hilariously roasting her.

She is correct, in that the Federal government has a process for dealing with them...they drop them off just inside the border or fly a few select to undisclosed states, and then simply push them out the door and say, “Go. Oh, don’t forget to come back when your court date comes up sometime in the next 6-9 months.”
Then the Fed process is done, as far as the day-to-day handling is concerned, I mean ALL the rest of the problems of dealing with non-English speaking, homeless, pennyless, hordes of UNEMPLOYABLES are for the states to handle, figure out, and suffer!

Her murder was seven years ago (as you know) and the communist/KKK/progressive/socialist/fascist/obama wing of what was once the Democrat party continue to do everything they can to destroy Classical liberal, Western, Judaeo-Christian culture. They use overt and covert means.
No governor has the authority to deport illegals. This is the next best thing.
Maybe you missed the part about east coase privilege... or until the libtards start living the dream... of course better to stop them but make the blue state illegal alien lovers take some responsibility.
Last news I saw on her was only a few months ago. The illegals defense team was trying to reduce his charges even more.

I'm world famous for missing the point but...the OP seemed upset that DeSantis and Abbott should be deporting them back to where they came from instead of shipping them out to D.C.
No governor has the power to deport illegals. Giving them bus rides out of town is not the same as deportation across international borders. I'm all for what they are doing.

Little factoid. The author of this, David Freddoso, was the “emergency editor” of our book “A Patriot’s History of the United States” back in 2004: we (Mike and I) had both gone through the book numerous times; our agent had gone through it, and our main editor at Sentinel had gone through it . . . and it was still long by 20,000 words. We agreed to an outside editor, and although ruthless, David’s cuts somehow were perfect and didn’t impact the meat of the book at all.
Conservative publications need to stop calling illegal aliens “migrants”, and they need to stop doing it now.
Indeed also note no wind power towers in Delaware.

Just days after NYC Mayor Eric Adams turned down Texas Greg Abbott’s invitation to visit the southern border, the Texas governor sent a taste of the ongoing migrant surge to NYC’s doorstep — with the first busload of border-crossers arriving in Manhattan Friday morning.
The Republican governor revealed in a statement that the migrant bus arrived at Gate 14 of the Port Authority Bus Terminal, but did not provide any additional details — such as how many people were on board or their countries of origin.
