NORCO, Calif. (FOX 11) – The owner of a store that was targeted by would-be robbers turned the tables on one of the suspects by opening fire on him in Norco.

Per the video, the clerk was alert and watching as the perp came in already masked up and with long gun pointed and yelling “Freeze!”, and the clerk immediately moved over behind some portion of his counter display and grabbed his weapon which was readily accessible. The perp continued to aim his weapon toward the clerk, who calmly but efficiently aimed his shotgun, briefly paused, and fired. “Time dilation” makes it seem like a loooooong time, but it all was very quick and fluid. It appeared the perp turned and started to run away before the shot, so it looks like the left arm took the hit, as the rifle seemed to be in his right hand and the left arm was hanging down freely. I didn’t see any blood.I don’t know if it was buckshot or a slug the clerk used, but given the initial aimed stance of the perp, it seems likely the clerk aimed for chest center mass of the perp turned somewhat sideways. A lot of speculation based on a short limited-view video.

Instinct shooting with shotgun is an instinct you don’t forget.
It is the only way you can hunt quail successfully. I learned that way.
