Cool room temperature inhibited cancer growth in mice (Lowers blood sugar level!)

Turning down the thermostat seems to make it harder for cancer cells to grow, according to a study in mice. The study found that chilly temperatures activate heat-producing brown fat that consumes the sugars the tumors need to thrive. Similar metabolic mechanisms were found in a cancer patient exposed to a lowered room temperature.

Mice acclimatized to temperatures of 4 degrees Celsius had significantly slower tumor growth and lived nearly twice as long compared with mice in rooms of 30 degrees Celsius.

To find out why, the researchers analyzed glucose metabolism. Cancer cells typically need large amounts of glucose, or sugar, to grow.

They found that cold temperatures triggered significant glucose uptake in brown adipose tissue, also known as brown fat, a type of fat that is responsible for keep the body warm during cold conditions. At the same time, the glucose signals were barely detectable in the tumor cells.

Feeding tumor-bearing mice with a high sugar drink obliterated the effect of cold temperatures and restored tumor growth.

Using positron emission tomography (PET) scanning, the researchers identified a significant amount of brown fat activated in the neck, spine and chest area of healthy adults wearing shorts and T-shirts while being exposed to a slightly chilly room temperature of 16 degrees Celsius for up to six hours per day for two weeks.

The patient with cancer wore light clothing while spending time in rooms of 22 degrees Celsius for a week and then in rooms of 28 degrees Celsius for four days. Prior research has shown that even though there are significant individual differences, 28 degrees Celsius is generally considered a comfortable environmental temperature (the thermoneutral temperature) for most inactive humans. The imaging scans picked up increased brown fat and lowered tumor glucose uptake during the lower versus the higher temperature.

Blood sugar radically increases cancer growth…

If there was just some way to restrict how someone’s blood sugar levels, ideally by diet…

>>Diet

When someone with cancer is in their last weeks, they are not eating. The cancer does not care about one’s blood sugar levels.

Oh yeah , you're flooding FR with all bullcraps.

I saw your other posts from the same website about Covid-19 thing.

As far as I know, there's no virus other than digital, theoretical abstraction made on a computer from a genomic database. Your so-called SARS-Cov2 virus that supposed to sicken people with so-called Covid-19 has never really been isolated, purified, sequenced, characterized and proven 100% to exist.

Covid-19 is all hoax from the beginning.

Oh they really claim per CDC and NIH websites some South Korean scientists were able to isolate by first mixing the samples with other genetic materials like monkey cell aka Vero cell, liver cancer cells, fetal bovine serum, etc.

in the Merriam-Webster dictionary, isolate means to set apart from others. To separate from another substance so as to obtain pure or in a free state.

In forensic science mixing samples with other genetic materials, that's not isolation. That would be unacceptable as evidence in the court of law.

If first criteria to fulfill the Koch's Postulate fails, therefore neither it can't satisfy the rest of the Koch's Postulate criteria.

If so, all the rest whatever you're linking here to read are all bullshit baloney bullcrap. Oh yeah, why so many died? Proving a pandemic isn't based upon epidemiological observation.

makes perfect sense.

lower to 0, nothing grows. who knew?

Stored fat provides energy for cancer activity.

Again, not surprising.

More energy is used by the body to keep it running, less excess energy to be sucked up by cancer. the glucose is routed to keeping extremities and everything else running normal in cold temps.

If blood sugar is low, muscles disintegrate and their proteins are converted to sugar.

Yes, the cool air will increase calorie loss. But in humans, we subliminally replace those calories by eating more. Hence, no weight loss.

The key to losing weight is actually 2, IMO (not a doctor):

(1) Switch to a keto diet (a real one, not dirty, etc.).

OR

(2) Reduce your total intake (if not diabetic).

Unfortunately, I use food to soothe stress. I have not been able to stay with either for very long. For people like me, cutting the stress, and doing things you enjoy would go a long way to getting healthier. Unfortunately, reducing stress is currently not an option. I’ll bet a lot of other people are in the same boat.

Starvation studies show a person with a 1500 cal basil metabolic rate produces 80g of glucose per day, part of it comes from the breakdown of 20g of protein.

The body will do what it can to maintain normal glucose levels.

Cancer may be something different. My wife lost about 5 lbs a month as she was dying from metastatic breast cancer. She didn’t want any protein.

I made high fat protein shakes for her but they didn’t stop the weight loss.

Some extreme experiments were done in the late 60’s by Dr. George Cahill. He fasted a group of volunteers for forty days. About ten days in, ketones in the blood reach a max of about 7. He cut blood vessels to the head to take measurements and he determined the brain was running on two thirds ketones, one third glucose. Then he injected them with 20 units of insulin, lowering their glucose reading to less than 18. This would normally put someone in a coma or death, but the subjects were unaffected, as their brains were running primarily on ketones.

Dr. Dominic D’Agostino is a cancer researcher at USF, and admits to injecting himself with insulin after achieving a high state of ketosis. He said his glucose level was too low to measure on the meter. This was discussed in a very interesting nearly three hour interview with Dr. Peter Attia:
https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/dom-dagostino-ph-d-ketosis-n-1-exogenous-ketones-hbot/id1400828889?i=1000415911177

Adam Kapelner, a math professor in NYC, has proposed a cancer treatment based on these experiments, to drastically lower glucose to starve the cancer while supporting the brain with ketones. He admits it will probably never be tried:

Was there a typo?

22C is a bit over 71F and 28C is over 80.

Those are not *cool* temps.
