My PTSD dog/best friend goes for chest x-rays tomorrow to see if his osteosarcoma has spread or not.

I’m so sorry.

I hope so, too.

My backyard would give Stephen King nightmares as they’re all buried out there.

I find myself worrying over where to dig another hole.

I hate the thought of it.

Every day I beg God that I won’t have to, for a very long time and that he’ll be one of the Lucky Ones.

There is nothing like the relationship that develops between us and our dogs. I’ll be praying for you and your best friend.

I hope it’s a good sign.

I’m so out of my element and so stupid about all of this, it’s pitiful.

I’ve never had a “cancer dog” before and have had to learn everything I could in a matter of days to try and figure out the best course of action for him.

Hit a lot of walls along the way, like the oncology vet who charged me $800 for two phone calls that amounted to nothing.

Had to start over and find another vet ASAP.

FJB’s lockdowns and mask mandates made it all a LOT harder.

Temple Grandin wrote a book called
“Animals Make Us Human.”

In glory there will be no single part of us that isn’t whole— especially our hearts.

One prayer on its way. More to come.

That was so beautiful.

Thank you.

I’m sitting here crying and I need to go to town to get a few things for his trip tomorrow so everyone, please forgive me if I don’t answer for a couple hours.

I need to get a battery powered fan to try to get the AC into the back seat as it’s going to be terribly hot tomorrow and the PT Loser’s AC is pitiful, at best and the city traffic is hard on him.

So sorry! Is this your newer dog? You had to get one not too long ago?

Is this just a regular check, or is your dog having symptoms that prompted the scan?

I started cremating mine when I couldn’t bear the thought of putting my old JRT in the ground. I did it with my old Bloodhound because there was no way I could dig a hole for a 145 pound dog. It’s a thing now and the best decision I have ever made. They are all on the same shelf and I even keep my JRT’s little John Deere tractor by his urn.

If we love a pet, dealing with this is inevitable.

No, it’s my Dobe, Hrafi.

He had a lump show up on his right hock in January and it was “suspected” to be osteosarcoma.

No biopsies or anything done, just straight to SRT and chemotherapy.

I have no idea if it is or isn’t’ but it’s presumed to be osteosarcoma by the vets.

I really do feel stupid.

[Rose Hill abides, btw]

Luckily we have a kind neighbor with a backhoe.

He is so very gentle and respectful with the graves, and never asks for a dime.

My sympathies.
We had a marvelous dog for 19 years. He was the center of our family. Energetic, smart as a whip and loyal to the core. He lived a great life and at 19 he started to deteriorate. Vision, energy, etc.

My wife and I decided to have him put down while he had a decent life. We were heart broken. After about a year we decided it was time. We did lots of research and got a new dog,

She is everything our other dog was. And more. We never have or will forget Charlie but Sadie is our newest family member.

I feel your pain but life does go on. Give it time and you can find a new best friend.

You'll not be surprised that I go overboard with their gravesites, I reckon.

Will pray your dog can get thru just fine.

It’s amazing - on the hock, and they can’t biopsy it?

A general question. I’ve read articles about Ivermectin and Fenbendazole and their effectiveness with various cancers. My sister was diagnosed with colon cancer with spread to the liver in April. I’ve been trying to get her to take the Ivermectin she has as part of her treatment. Read Joe Tippen’s story and joined his FB group.
Anyone try either treatment on their pets with cancer?
