My PTSD dog/best friend goes for chest x-rays tomorrow to see if his osteosarcoma has spread or not.

I will pray. What does your gut tell you re his status? Does he seem better, worse, or no change?
The loss of a pet, although inevitable, is one of the worst events in life. I’m embarrassed to say I’ve sobbed longer and harder after losing pets than losing some family members. You never really get over it.
We’re going to have to make a hard decision with one of our kitties soon. I’m afraid.
I pray for good news too. Dogs have unconditional love for their human caretakers.

That sucks. I lost a lab to osteosarcoma. Horrible disease. Prayers for you and your pup.

Except for a intermittent limp, he’s as happy as a clam.
Usually dogs with cancer lose weight but he’s gained weight *and* grown an inch taller!
He’s 5 years old and has been exactly 28 3/4” tall since he was a year old but now he’s 30” tall.
He’s currently happily crushing a dog food can that has a few molecules left in it, apparently.

I used to think having a dog suddenly drop dead of heart failure was the worst thing in the world.

Prayers up and hope it’s good news. I lost a 15-year old to bladder cancer. The tumor shrinking cancer meds kept her going for almost a year but when she started suffering, it was time to let go. Her ashes are sitting on the table with my old Jack Russell and my old bloodhound. I hope you have yours for a long while yet.
Amen to that.
Fussing over them keeps us from looking at all the horror around us, now.
