A giant Mega Millions lottery jackpot ballooned to $1.02 billion after no one matched all six numbers Tuesday night and won the top prize.
The new estimated jackpot for Friday’s drawing will be the nation’s fourth-largest lottery prize.
The jackpot has grown so large because no one has matched the game’s six selected numbers since April 15. That’s 29 consecutive drawings without a big winner.
Tuesday’s numbers were: 07-29-60-63-66, Mega Ball: 15.
Whaddya mean I didn’t win? I got the winning ticket with the winning numbers in my hands right now! I can’t help it if they got the numbers wrong.
It’s not really $1 BILLION but instead is more like $350 million after everything is done.
Winning that much money would be unfathomable.
I bought a ticket. I guarantee every single number will be one-off from the drawn numbers.
If I won, the first person I would tell is a tax attorney.
Losing $2 wont affect anything, winning $500 million certainly will.

I don’t know if it’s still true or true in such a huge number, but in California the lotto winnings are (or were) exempt from state taxes. Which is a whopping 13.9%+ So, if a Californian wins, they just pay the Federal top rate.
Of course, I’d take the lump sum vs the 30 year installment so it’s probably more like $450 million. $600 million lump sum less apx 24% federal tax.
Play it, you can win. 20 years ago I won 2nd prize which back then was $175,000 I played $5 worth and I never played and got $110,000 in return after taxes. Same day I went down to the lottery office they wrote me a check right there, and went to my bank and told the teller I got my Christmas bonus early. I never really played again believe it or not, maybe 2 or 3 times.
My wife asked me what extravagant thing I would buy if I won the lotto. I told her I’d buy 2 houses next door to each other. One for us to live in, and one to put all her stuff.
Tell you what, since I am a ‘pureblood’ in Canaduh, so I can’t travel into XiJinBiden’s USSA, how about you buy me a ticket and I’ll send you the money? If it wins, you can collect it and give me the 90%. How’s that for a deal?
