I’ve never had an abortion. But I’ve had a lot of sex. And when I’ve been asked what my “number” is by friends or lovers, I laughed it off because I hadn’t ever considered counting a complete tally of partners.
But today I realize the privilege that comes with not really knowing how many different men I’ve slept with. That’s because I lived during a time when I was lucky enough to be able to separate my sex life from the rest of me. To put sex into a little box that I only accessed when the time was right. I was not weighed down by fears of pregnancy. I was bolstered by rights that I knew would protect me should things not go as planned.
Now, I recognize that the number of sex partners I’ve had defines an era and a mentality that we are all at risk of losing. I’ve been lucky enough to have slept with at least 17 men in my 41 years of life, and I think it might mean something positive that I’m not sure if there were more.
Why keep track? Because if it doesn’t matter to me, it shouldn’t matter at all. That’s the freedom and privilege of having had access to abortion and contraception for my entire adult life.
Talking about abortion access must come in many forms. This has now become a war, and battles for regaining our constitutional rights as women must become manifest on the streets, on the page, and in conversation.

“Sadly, 17 is probably average for the typical attractive female 40 year old,
Maybe lower than average. But he real number is likely far,
Far higher”
I’d say not even close. I get my stats from the Maury Show. Yes I know Maury gets the trash of society but still it’s kinda truthful in a way.
I remember when I first saw Sholonda I could not believe it. A woman is only fertile for a few days out of a month and she did not know who the father was? 19 men tested and still never knew who her baby daddy was?

Apparently Hoeville has a lot of residents.
Obviously, looking at this thread.
they’d ALL break their necks from that height...
This woman needs a program to tell who all the players are.

The funny thing is I’m of the younger generation by FR standards and I don’t know anyone my age, man or woman, who sleeps around like this. Most Millennials I know are too busy scraping by to have much time for sex. And the ones that still live with their parents, well, that seriously crimps your style when bringing a guy/gal home.
Funny how “women’s empowerment” always seems to involve tons of casual sex, which just happens to be what men want more than women.
I guess I'm "absurd" because that's exactly how I "went into sex" and 12 kids and 30 years later my wife and I are still enjoying our life together in every way. I can't quantify it, but if the Good Lord provided the numbers, I'd bet we've indulged more in any single one of those thirty years than the author has in her entire pathetic lifetime, no synthetic hormones, chemicals, devises or murders necessary. And when we're dead, our short sweet sexlife will still matter in eternity.
I totally agree. Taxation is THEFT!
I was thinking more along the lines of a quick quiet abortion.

“She’s 41, apparently unmarried, and unlikely to ever marry a guy who becomes aware of this article. In a few years she will not find herself desired by any guy she may find desirable. She has missed her window of opportunity for marriage, and certainly missed out on children.”
All of the above is good news for our society!
Oh the whore moans.
This is so similar to the editorials on Monkey Pox. Their blatant, nightly, promiscuous sex with strangers is being threatened.
Sodom and Gomorrah.
Yet (many of) we men who will boink anything that will have us are playboys, rakes, make-out artists, "lucky", and get kudos for our behavior. Ain't fair to the sluts.
Life isn’t fair.
True that.
Exactly.
Has anyone really questioned the whole “birth-control-contraceptive” mentality? Have women really benefited from poisoning themselves over the last 50-60 years?
All this mentality has done is justify and promote selfish slutty behavior in both men and women and contribute to the degradation of children.
